Bring ideas like this one to India - http://goo.gl/GD9tak "After a crisis, how can we tell if water is safe to drink? Current tests are slow and complex, and the delay can be deadly, as in the cholera outbreak after Haiti's earthquake in 2010. TED Fellow Sonaar Luthra previews his design for a simple tool that quickly tests water for safety — the Water Canary."

1. Where ever people burn or dump dead bodies in Ganga, create a small by-pass that does NOT remix w/ river flow but is processed separately. 2. Low flush toilet designs are available universally & can reduce amount of pollution. 3. Pollution eating bacteria should be mandatorily added to ALL (body & cloth) soap sold in Ganga territories. 4. Held "Clean Ganga" convention in Varanashi in next 3 months to get ideas & innovative solutions from all over the world.

Wood fire should be banned for cremation of bodies. The dead bodies should be burnt in close chambers with tall chimney. It is better if government can ban use of wood for cremation with support from religious heads. CNG and electric based cremation is safer, less pollutant, cheaper and clean system. In the Hindu custom, the corpses of babies under the age of five are flowed in the river which no doubt pollutes the river and sometimes, the body parts of babies are eaten by animals. Isn’t it

1. First save river water by using less. A new design of commodes/toilets has to be made which uses max 2 litres water per flush, the current designs use 11 to 15 litres per flush! Solution : Design a commode which have pressure nozzles that release water with great force ( like the spray in a car wash) , so less water is used . 2. The toilet drainage in septic tanks (for each area) should be taken to treatment plant and converted directly into manure, it should not be realeased into river.
