Our countrymen are highly emotional and sentimental people and we should exploit that to keep Ganga clean :) (1) Govt should encourage local religious leaders at each crowded point of Ganga bank to make Ganga Temple at each crowded point and the whole theme of Temple should be that if you pollute Ganga river, Gamga Maiya will send you to Narak :) I can bet you that people will stop throwing rubbish in Ganga and will use Garbage Bin provided.

We should hv a clear cut policy of penalizing individuals villages or businesses who so ever is polluting Ganga & for industries who have to conduct a survey regarding their requirements to maintain the zero tolerance policy to save ganga from pollution and as per their requirement , govt can bear or share the financial part. and i feel that we should have a central surveillance team and implementation part should be responsibility of state under the very tight surveillance of center

First and foremost measure will be total accountability of every individual's responsibility, who are participating to do so. Secondly mass awareness of the society about the ill effect in case Ganga is left polluting. Proper disposals of the religious waste, which people often seen throwing into the river because of their religious beliefs.
