A very easy initiative which could be implemented at household level is segregation of waste. In Austria (most of the European countries), every household must segregate its waste at source specially into organic waste, plastic and glass. There are separate garbage bins for each type of waste and even the garbage collection vans which comes every alternate day collect the particular waste, which could be then recycled or treated accordingly.

This idea is for Delhi NCR areas and is hard to implement: lets fix parking charge as following Four wheelar Rs 500/- per entry for 2hrs Two Wheeler - free parking All parking shall be govt operated. This shall reduce four wheeler trafic on road thus less trafic on road thus time saving thus less pollution thus require less infrastructure like road flyovers thus govt money saving for construction cost and finally people shall have more time for their families will form healthy relations.

Till we involve local population in this drive nothing will succeed. As a management Consultant i solved problems related to QUALITY, MAINTAINANCE by organising inter deptt competitons SAME can be done by having INTER CITY INTER DISTT CLEANLINESS COMPETITONS. Awards like Most Clean Metro, Most Clean City, Most Clean Distt can be awarded. This will ensure local population as well as Local administration will get involved. Parameters can always be worked out in advance.

If one person decides to pick just one wrapper, packet,or paper every time he visits the neighbourhood and disposes it in the dustbin ,clean surroundings are very easy to obtain. But this method will be ineffective if there are no garbage treatment facilities as this will make sure that garbage will be collected by the local government and they have to either recycle it or else dump it somewhere thus polluting environment again.
