We have a serious problem of stray dogs in India 1.Annually, around 31,000 rabies deaths occur across Asia, with 20,000 of them in India alone 2.Small children under 10 are an easy target for aggressive dogs 3.Many 2 wheeler accidents are caused by dogs chasing vehicles, leading to injuries and deaths 4.The continuous barking of stray dogs, particularly at night, creates a lot of disturbance, especially for the elderly and sick people 5.Stray dogs contribute to unclean environments by defecating on roads and public spaces 6.India is a global tourist destination, but the sight of aggressive or unhealthy street dogs can deter tourists 7.Stray dogs scavenge from garbage bins, tearing bags apart and spreading litter causing public health issues 8.Apart from rabies, street dogs spread other zoonotic diseases like leptospirosis and tapeworms 9.In some areas, stray dogs attack local wildlife 10.Many people, especially the elderly and children, live in constant fear of dog attacks
