On 15th August every year, the Prime Minister speaks from the ramparts of the Red Fort and lays out the government's programmes and policies. Over the last few years, the Hon’ble Prime Minister has directly invited ideas and suggestions from citizens for the Independence Day Speech. Similarly, this year too the Prime Minister invites citizens to contribute their inputs for New India. So, now you have the opportunity to tell your ideas, give word to your suggestions and crystallize your vision. PM Narendra Modi may pick up some of the ideas in his speech on 15th August.

Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, On the occasion of Independence Day, I humbly suggest that your address to the nation should inspire every citizen to contribute towards building a Viksit Bharat. My suggestion is to establish “Youth Employment & Entrepreneurship Centres” in every district, where young people can receive guidance on skill development, government schemes, entrepreneurship, bank loans, employment opportunities, and market access under one roof. Along with “Har Ghar Tiranga,” I suggest introducing a nationwide campaign called “Har Ghar Ek Sankalp,” encouraging every family to take one meaningful pledge for the nation—such as planting a tree, saving water, maintaining cleanliness, supporting local businesses, promoting digital literacy, or helping those in need.

I would like to suggest the creation of a “Safe Commute” system for women, especially for those who travel early in the morning or return late from work, college or other responsibilities. Every city could identify and monitor specific routes used heavily by women, with reliable lighting, functioning CCTV cameras and clearly displayed emergency contact points. Public transport on these routes could have a simple emergency mechanism that immediately alerts the nearest police control room in case of harassment or danger. The focus should be on making the journey itself safer, because women should not have to choose between their education, employment or independence and their safety. I request the Hon’ble Prime Minister to consider a pilot project in selected cities and, if successful, expand it across the country. Safety should not begin after a crime—it should begin with a safer journey home.

I would like to suggest that “Time Saved for Citizens” be made an important measure of good governance. For an ordinary citizen, time is as valuable as money. Long queues, repeated visits to government offices, excessive paperwork and complicated procedures often consume hours that could be spent with family, at work or on productive activities. As India moves towards becoming a developed nation, every government service should be designed with one simple question in mind: How much time can this save for an ordinary citizen? We request the Hon’ble Prime Minister to encourage every department to simplify procedures, reduce unnecessary documentation, integrate services and make processes faster and more accessible. Development should not only mean better roads, buildings and technology; it should also mean less time spent navigating systems and more time spent living, working and contributing to the nation. Good governance should not merely provide services—it should give citizens their

One Day Without Screens Encourage families to keep one evening a week screen-free—no social media, gaming or unnecessary scrolling. The evening could be spent talking, playing, creating or simply being together. This is simple enough for every family to try.

Subject: Citizen Participation by Beneficiaries of Government Cash Assistance Government financial assistance provides important support to citizens and families. Along with such support, there is an opportunity to encourage greater citizen participation in local nation-building activities. We propose that beneficiaries receiving direct cash benefits or financial assistance from Government may be encouraged to voluntarily contribute a few hours periodically towards community service in their own locality. Suggested areas of voluntary participation may include: • Swachhta Mitra – Cleanliness, waste management and upkeep of public spaces. • Road Safety Mitra – Road-safety awareness and promotion of traffic discipline. • Imandari Mitra – Promoting honesty, integrity and ethical behaviour. • Hariyali Mitra – Tree plantation, water conservation and environmental protection. • Swasthya Mitra – Promoting fitness, yoga and healthy living.

Suggestion: Building Trust with India’s Youth through Direct Dialogue Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, On the occasion of Independence Day 2026, I would like to suggest that the Prime Minister’s address to the nation include a special message for India’s students and youth. Today, many students are experiencing genuine concerns and frustration regarding examination irregularities, paper leaks, uncertainty about competitive examinations, employment opportunities and women’s safety. At the same time, information about such issues often reaches students through different sources and narratives, which can sometimes increase confusion and anger. I believe that one of the strongest ways to rebuild trust is direct communication with students.
