The country is well endowed with many metallic and non-metallic mineral resources.  India is a leading player in respect of many non fuel minerals including, iron ore, bauxite, dolomite, lime stone and mica.  Mining sector (non-fuel) currently accounts for approx 0.5% of GDP. For accelerated economic growth on sustainable basis, this sector has to grow at a much faster pace to secure a higher percentage in the GDP.

Scientific, sustainable and transparent mining practices require well trained manpower.  Skill development not only enhances productivity and safety at work place, but more importantly, it prepares the manpower to adapt to the new state of art technologies. Currently this sector employs around 0.2 Million workforce which is estimated to grow to 0.3 Million in next 10 years.

It is not a question of Incentive at this stage, its a question of development of skills suited to the industry and one of the ways to do this is strengthening the institutions like ITI. Also we should make it complusory for the Industry to hire certain number of trainees every year to start skill development within the current set up. We have to ensure that the skilled person also get jobs to further encourage others to be a part of such program. Employement exchange need to work effectively.

The natural resources are scares resources of the nation and we need to understand and make sure the benefit is shared with all. As far as incentive structure isconcerned the workers should be allowed to share the profits in the compay and they should be encouraged to share any illegal activites going on. All the mining workers health care and the childrens education should be taken care by the mining company.

Hi Sir, Namaste! We have so many portability (PF/mobile), now it’s time for the Vehicle when a person get transferred from one state to other, need to obtain the NOC. As obtaining NOC is very difficult and it’s not that easy to get from either state RTO's. For which an individual’s need to sell out hefty amount through broker to get it done. For this can we see some smooth process, such that NOC no need to be obtained and vehicles can move within the country. Regards, Nagendra
