A good model is the ASAP (Additional Skill Acquisition Programme) executed in Kerala. Through this students who are academically backward are given skill(vocational) training along with training in communicative English and IT. A shift from bookish learning to skill training is very useful for the marginalised youth. The project is a grand success.

I think it should be made mandatory for all government officials that their children have to study only in government schools, a lot improvement will occur automatically.

I think the culture of reading books should be established from the primary schools. Government can establish small libraries for public schools with some good books concentrating children. We should encourage writers to come up with books concentrating children and youth to drag their attention. Above all schools should allot some time during school hours to read books other than their syllabus. Encouraging writing, speech and Poetry competitions can also indirectly contribute to read books.

Dear Modi Sir, now days institutions will have to focus more on practical's and onside trainings. I agreed theory is important but practical also is as important as theory, I have seen many institutions do not have even proper laboratories and workshops. We need to establish a panel who can inspect institution about the ratio of practical's and theory in campus.

When it comes to improving education, first of all eradicate student politics till 12th standard. This will actually help in avoiding ruckus which is caused by multiple parties. Give teachers a little freedom for innovation and interaction. Set-Up unitary students wings which do not belong to any party, to provide peaceful environment. And finally scrap CCE, as it is nothing less than waste. Come-Up with some interactive ideas and do update our textbooks

Kavitha rajsekar Education in India is a dream rather vision of our former president Dr.APJ.Abdul Kalam. To work towards this dream we need to awaken the society and help the needy to gain education from the right age in every corner of India. As Government employees we can be asked to take classes in the near by government schools to encourage students to come to school. This can make education more interesting for the students.Teachers of Govt schools can be oriented for better teaching skills

That social indifference is one of the main reasons that has led to the boycotting of the rural schools. I feel sad to say that the gap has become so big that many geniuses are going waste. Many talented people in the history have come from a middle or low class family. Being indifferent to it is the waste of the greatest resource our country has, the human resource.

For the rural schools I would suggest investment on creation of one big school with all reqd. facilities rather many small schools which work for namesake only. A school develops when it comes into the world of competition. So regular inter school competitions should be held in rural areas. It happens in private and middle class schools but joining those rural schools with the private schools for competition will further refine the rural schools.
