There should be availability of resrevation of handicaps through internet reservation system so that they need not to move to railway station for reservation. But on the bases that they should carry their original certificate with them and if not penalty should charged.

The cancellation charges should be made very steep so that people just don't make a booking without deciding to travel on a certain date. The current system results in a long waiting list very early and several people who finally get reservation after cancellation are kept in avoidable anxiety besides using a lot of reservation system time making it less efficient.

What an issue is this? Age old problem of supply and demand in railways and we try to solve the symptoms, how to get faster into ticketing system to get ticket booked. When the world of Googles and Facebooks can serve billions of accounts holders concurrently in a fraction of second, when NSE and BSE systems can show up real-time transactions and manage prices, and we ask the question, how to improve the ticketing system. Solve the demand issue first, and ticketing website should breadth itself. Following are few suggestions to solve the demand issue. 1. Reserve 50% of tickets in long distance trains for end 2 end journey, as long distance trains are meant for this. 2. Increase cancellation charges to 25% of the cost of ticket or 250/- minimum. 3. Make minimum length of trains during festive session up to 30 coaches, with 2 engines. 4. Add 3 double decker chair car in each long distance train for short distance travelers, of up to 10 hours of total journey time. This will reduce the pressure on long distance birth booking. System should allow booking of chairs only for journeys less than 10 hours. Let these chair car be like Volvo buses. 5. Import one time 5000 number of coaches and Engines and start hundreds of long distance premium trains across India, with a very lucrative revenue sharing model with zones / stations and staff. 6. Allow private companies in laying new tracks and railway pays money for usage. This must be done for serious bottleneck routes, like Bangalore – Pune, where bus reached in 12 hours and train takes 24 hours till today. What is the business case for a traveler to travel by train? Until we solve the demand issue, website problem will continue till eternity.

5) why don't you provide an opportunity to book consecutive seats for families/ friends who want to travel together? Because of our societal values, people want their friends/ family together. But our booking system allocates randomly which creates a hassle in swapping people. 6) why isn't there any charge for luggage or cargo? People fill the compartments with luggages which makes it really difficult to move within coaches.

3) Why does railway employees of manager cadre have a right to upgrade wait-listed tickets booked over counter? 4) Needless to say, traffic handling during tatkal is not so effective. Ticket booking over IRCTC has never been a pleasant experience. A person would require two or three attempts on an average to book a ticket. Is this the reason why IRCTC website is number one in terms of traffic?

2) No clarity on rules. A rule on IRCTC portal says if you book in group, it is enough if one person from the group carry proof. But Ticket checking inspectors charge fine if any one from the group doesn't carry original ID proof. Please educate the customer that photocopied proofs are not considered. Because lot of Indians preserve their original ID proofs and use colour photocopied proofs instead, who end up paying fine.

there are lot of issues with IRCTC ticketing system. 1) If you book ticket over the counter, you can travel even if it is wait-listed. Reason is money can't be reimbursed and hence you will be accommodated which leads to over booking because lot of people from rural villages rely on counter bookings.

Creation of seasonal jobs in railways- In trains, a passenger of 3AC or above is provided with bed roll( blanket, sheet, pillow etc.), for which no separate charges are taken from passenger unlike garib rath wherein Rs 25 per person is charged from the passenger. This facility of optional bed roll should be extended in all long distant sleeper class trains. This will open thousands of job opportunities for coach attendants atleast in winter. It will also reduce the luggage of passengers
