Now we have AADHAR CARDS in hands of most of the people ... Railways should make ticketing based on AADHAR CARDS .... no need to fill the forms .... just card is enough for buying a ticket .... No need for operators to type name.... it will help uneducated people to buy ticket without intermediaries.... system will become fast ..... movement of people will traceable .... jan dhan account get automatically debited while buying ticket ... no need for cash counting and no hassles of change

WHY cant we have a CAPTIVE POWER PLANT. we have LAND / COAL transport / HUGE not fluctution stagnent REQUIREMENT . energy cost may come down by more than 60% . At present we are buying at 7/-Rs per unit this will go up as service tax rises due to GST. Captive power plant can provide sustainable electricity at 2 to 3 Rs per unit.

I have one suggestion for railways which can be used for Green India initiative as well. Approx 11000 Trains in India run daily and atleast 5 TC with, may be more than, 20 pages will be verifying the passengers tickets. So, daily atleast 11 Lacs pages are wasted by railways. Its a huge waste of papers and also tax payers money. Printing cost is additional. Why not provide Low-Cost tablets to all the TCs and connect them through internet to dynamically update the passenger status.

Mobile application to be there, it should be user friendly, clear options, best design, fast, open source applicaTION...handheld devices to be there with TT like bus conductor for ticketing system. if general ticket can be taken in advance like 4-5 days advance it would be awesome..

Further improvement in booking of railway can be done by fixing photograph of the passenger on railway ticket itself by installing a small camera at each ticket counter. It should be made mandatorily that live photograph of at least one passenger should be fixed on each ticket. This can also be done while anyone booking ticket from his laptop/computer/mobile. This will reduce the role of broker in booking of reservation ticket as well as strengthen the security system of railway.

the essence of my suggestion for online booking is time of departure of a particular train. Suppose, if the train starts at 8.17 PM on 4th of February, 2015 and we decide 48 hours window, then online booking should start at 8.17 PM on 2nd of February, 2015. Like wise for all trains. This will reduce the problem of traffic jam at 10.00AM Sharp at every day because Tatkal booking for all trains starts at a same moment. This principal should also be followed in non- Tatkal booking of railway ticket

Sir, it is convenient if it is allowed to change the date of reservation after reservation. I had seen so many people who are Due to changes in personal schedules. It is better if it was introduced with extra fees. Postpone the reservation, prepone the reservation, extend the reservation, changing the train, transforming the ticket to another person with IRCTC account. Of course with some regulations, constraints and extra fees.

I think that if we separate the online booking time for each train then the load on railway reservation system will reduced and the online reservation system will not be slowed at peak moment because no peak moment will be available. The load of online booking can be easily distributed within 24 hours, if the system allow online booking just 24 or 48 hours before the time of departure of train for Tatkal Ticket and 4 Months or any Month just before the time of departure of train for gen. Ticket

Sir, I could not find a suitable thread to submit my proposal to augment the Swach Bharat Abhiyan in Railways. One of the major reasons for poor hygiene in railway stations other than the defecation in toilets in stations is that of food stuff. This in turn is due to the food stalls on the platforms. To wean away the garbage from the platforms, these food stalls could be re-located. One option is to create a multi-storey station complex with dedicated food courts. Delhi Metro is a good example.
