Invite private companies to collect the garbage and generate electricity from it at block level itself. Ask companies to take up some areas /blocks in cities for green activities as part of CSR. Remove the system of giving cleaning contracts to private parties for payment from city corporations. The private companies must earn money from power generation and recycling of the waste.

the first step is to change thinking and habits of people. We should motivate everyone to take part in this cleaning of our country because without changing the thinking scenario of people the cleanliness of our country will not be able to be taken to a much high level.

Yes definitely, since the people of urban and rural areas are having totally different mindsets towards every issue. Hence, they must be persuaded towards a common perception towards the issues and then only the solution could be brought functioning.

Total disregard of public money let us do soul searching exercise or else merge all non performing banks into single entity

why dont we responsibility and onus on each corporator to maintain cleanliness in their ward. Announce some schemes/awards for such corporator/wards which maintains cleanliness. These corporators are having good knowledge of their wards and areas and they know what needs to be done. It should start from base of the pyramid and it will automatically reflect in the whole nation. It rural areas put onus on gram panchayat members. They have to take this added responsibility to serve their nation..

India's waste disposal system need to be strengthened and that too at the earliest. Urban waste management is very different from that of the rural India. Firstly its a necessasity that segregation of the waste must be made mandatory and fines must be collected for not abiding to this which must a law being passed at the earliest. Also government offices and the working people in it must be awarded for keeping cleanliness in the office. This can be done from state govt. offices to central govt. ones
