Ministry of Electronics and IT has drafted a Data Centre policy to benefit the Data Centre park developers/Data Centre operators as well as the allied ecosystem of the Data Centre sector. The policy envisages making India a Global Data Centre hub, promote investment in the sector, propel digital economy growth, enable provisioning of trusted hosting infrastructure to fulfill the growing demand of the country and facilitate state of the art service delivery to citizens. This document lays out a policy framework including various structural / regulatory interventions, investment promotion in the sector, possible Incentivization mechanisms along with the institutional mechanism required for the governance. The policy framework also seeks to strengthen the recently announced “AatmaNirbhar Bharat” initiative by identifying possible opportunities of manufacturing of Data Centre equipment (IT as well as non-IT) in the country. It also identifies possible areas of participation by MSMEs and Start-ups.

The policy intends to ensure sustainable and trusted Data Centre capacity within the country. This policy framework shall be followed by a detailed scheme with implementation guideline document providing the particulars of various fiscal and non-fiscal incentives to be provided to the sector by the Central and State Government.

For the same, Ministry of Electronics and IT invites citizen suggestions on the Draft Data Center Policy 2020.
Refer to the Policy document here : Draft Data Center Policy 2020

I have the following suggestions: 1. Keep the capacity modular in nature, as the data requirement multiplies many fold each year. 2. There is a huge scope in each district, taluka, city lvel, state level for computerisation / data storage / data retrieval etc. So please plan with additional redunduncy. 3. With the advent of 5G, there is going to be hure requirement for data management, so keep this in mind. 4. All the current services - like payment - should be made digital.

Donations: People give to NGOs, Govt - some transparent some NOT. Suggestion: All donations should be routed through Govt IT Platform : a). If donation is to Govt - Govt will keep this b). IF person is wiling to give to Pvt or social Organization - Govt Platform will transfer the same immediately online to that organization BUT in both cases Govt Platform will be used. This will help :Tracking By Govt and people online (NO need for RTI)- and its utilization. Immediate TDS Certificate

Make Data Base of Big Properties and review: Major income (black/ Whie) is used in property circulation. Any property with value over say Rs 1 cr or 5 cr should be scrutinized with source of income. Any property can be sold thru govt i.e. citizens can only sale to Government and Govt will in turn run the tendering process and give the sales proceedings to the Seller. THough Idea is not over centralization and Control - It can be reviewed periodically and relax basis need.

DRAFT DATA CENTER POLICY Currently, as per various estimates, India has around 375 MW installed power capacity for Data Centre and as per projections, this may grow to three time by 2025. This policy intends to accelerate the projected Data Centre growth and investments in the sector. Thanks regards by 𝙃𝘼𝙍𝙎𝙄𝙏𝘼 𝘾𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙨-𝙑𝙄-𝘼 𝙎𝘾𝙃𝙊𝙊𝙇 𝙉𝙖𝙢𝙚 - 𝙆𝙀𝙉𝘿𝙍𝙄𝙔𝘼 𝙑𝙄𝘿𝙔𝘼𝙇𝘼𝙔𝘼 𝙎𝙚𝙘 - 12 𝘿𝙒𝘼𝙍𝙆𝘼 𝙉𝙀𝙒 𝘿𝙀𝙇𝙃𝙄

Protecting Power. Outsourcing data control lessens the impact of a power disaster or failure. Cutting Costs. Some experts believe the U.S. economy loses between $200 billion and $570 billion a year due to power outages and other disturbances. Improving Efficiency.
