Recently I cam across this article (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/ahmedabad/Teak-absorbs-max-CO2-from-air-helps-check-global-warming/articleshow/51721842.cms?) in TOI which talks about trees which absorb maximum CO2. Trees like Teak and Neem can be planted on road sides, along side highways, on dividers. This will surely help in reducing the CO2 level and hence the global warming.

Hi All,
This is all our responsibility to control Global warming , we should take serious steps and implement it. Government , publics and each and every individual responsibility .
We have so long Highways and Channels all across india but many i have seen without trees and looks like Barren Highway . So govt should instruct the Highway Board and the company which holds contract for highway should plant trees all along the side ways of National highways so that's one control measure.

Today nt only Chandigarh but whole India is facing pollution problem. Sum cities like Mumbai, pune, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Delhi, etc r facing pollution prob coz of human itself. Co2 & other poisonous gases r spreading rapidly they must b stopped for protection of environment. Planting trees in each & evry societies & in front of each houses where trees can b planted r d best optn coz trees help us in reducing pollution level. Then pple must use cycles & public transports, less use of AC n etc

Pollutiin is a major problem in india nt only in chandigarh specialy air pollution.70% of air pollution is only bcz of vehicles. The amount of lead is increasing day by day in metro cities.so i hv a solution to it if you like. Govt should provide a fuel card only to driving license holder citizens of india. There will b certain amount of fixed petrol n diesel for each people per month. That amount can very for small vehicle to large one n individual to industrial.

To reduce land pollution , waste management must be done . This includes :
1 - keeping biodegradeable and non biodegradeable waste separate . It is possible only if it is implied at household level . Ppl will not do it unless it is made compulsory for all . And not maintaining it must be punishable by law.
2 the biodegradable waste must be used to get bio gas and d residue to make fertilizers .
3 metal scraps and other metal waste instead of handpicked should be done with electromagnets
