In an endeavor to promote & underline the importance of 'Action Plan for Introduction of Cheetah in India’, PM Narendra Modi in his Mann Ki Baat asked citizens for suggestions on the Names of the Cheetahs!

Male cheetah names : 1. Chitwan/चीतवन - in sanskrit it means Heart of the Jungle 2.Duma/Kalahari - African cheetah is usually called duma and part of kalahari dessert lies in namibia from where cheetah are brought 3. Jugnu - jewel / firefly Female cheetah names : १.चिन्गारी २.बैला ३.तारिणी ४.शाल्मली ५.रिद़म्‌
