With challenges of rapid urbanisation ahead and the promise to conserve the green heritage of “City Beautiful”, Chandigarh Administration is always committed to create a clean and healthy environment for its resident, commuters & tourists. Eco-friendly & sustainable technologies will be focus of city under “Smart City Mission”.

As per the “Rank of Cities on Sanitation 2009-2010” Report (issued by Ministry of Urban Development, GoI) Chandigarh emerged as the cleanest city in India, with a rating of 73.48 points followed by Mysore in the second place with 70.65 points. However the Administration still strives for more better & effective solutions on sanitation and cleanliness which should come directly from its residents. The citizen consultation will give an important insight of the requirements& aspirations of the residents for Sanitation & Cleanliness Plan of Chandigarh.

So, the Chandigarh Administration hereby invites ideas, views, opinion and suggestions from the residents so that the objective of “Smart Sanitation & Cleanliness Solutions” could be achieved.

All women's toilet in public places (e.g. parks, shopping malls, PSU buildings) should provide free tampons as women in India suffer badly in this respect. All men's toilet in public places should provide free condoms. This way safe sex, population control can be achieved.

Here are number of things Chandigarh should start doing immediately. 1)Please start by separating your domestic garbage. WHAT IT MEANS? It means you have a separate collecting dustbin( or container or bag) for organic wastes. It also means the inorganic wastes such as plastic covers are in separate bag or dustbin It also means all paper waste is again a good idea to collect and sell it to a raddiwaala It also means all cold drink cans, glass bottles, beer bottles, etc are to be separated.

People should put the garbage in good quality garbage bags, that can be bought from local stores, for storing their garbage and then seal its face with a knot and dispose in the garbage area for PWD workers to collect it. Keeping garbage in low quality plastics doesn't serve any purpose. It's a small price (You can buy 90 Garbage Bags for Rs. 99 from flipkart) you have to pay for keeping your neighborhood clean for your own and your family's sake. #Sanitation, #Cleanliness, #SwachhBharat
