With challenges of rapid urbanisation ahead and the promise to conserve the green heritage of “City Beautiful”, Chandigarh Administration is always committed to create a clean and healthy environment for its resident, commuters & tourists. As per the “Rank of Cities on Sanitation 2009-2010” Report (issued by Ministry of Urban Development, GoI) Chandigarh emerged as the cleanest city in India, with a rating of 73.48 points followed by Mysore in the second place with 70.65 points. However the Administration still strives for more better & effective solutions on sanitation and cleanliness which should come directly from its residents. Respected PM sir:
SILICON valley is ready to come to India - I am sure - after viewing all the meetings to day at Silicon Valley.
I am concerned on ADMN. side of each state. If it is done i8n a haphazard way - social security / law and problems could become an issue. Will state govt. provide good roads and other amenities?
Why not PMO office select few major second line cities -- and make sure the infrastructure is ready/onthe way before encouraging top SILICON VALLEY companies step in. My c

The followings may be few suggestive measures for a smart and clean Chandigarh: 1. Street washing before sweeping; 2. Use Bio-disposers to dispose kitchen / bio-degradable waste directly to sewer network. 3. Areas without sewer network may be provided with Bio-digesters for tackling bio-degradable waste. 4. Manage all type of Solid Waste separately without co-mingling for efficient reuse / recycling. & 5. Prefer to provide decentralised sanitation facilities community managed & self sustainable.

waste material should be categorized recyle, non recycle, compostable, from door to door home there should be three type of bags , so recyle material and compostable type bin can be reused by the administration generate revenue and administration will not charge pick garbage fee from local citizens.

I suggest that MC SHOULD PURCHASE mechanised Trucks fitted with crushing machines in their body
when solid wast or kitchen waste loaded in trucks that will be crushed immediately so in one truck at least solid waste and kitchen waste can be crushed in a day and that crushed mini garbage plan will produce small quantity of crushed finished waste that can be dumped in a small dumping ground or in low area.that status of smart city will improove

Such type of committees should be formed as a test project to make city more beautiful in smart city project

Link Aadhar card to water & electrcity connection of every resident. Let resident be responsible for segregation of household waste ie organic waste, recyclable waste & inert waste. Put it in respective dustbins or give to rehariwalas appointed by MC. Collection to processing of waste garbage responsibility has to be with MC.Industrial & hotels hv to be responsible for processing their own solid waste. Make rules to impose high penalties to the defaulters. Enough biogas & manure can be generated

Hi,

I want to add on Swach bharat abhiyan related to dustbin availability at all places.

I suggest to put a simple ring tied with the poles at public places on which a dustbin polybag can be add and change on daily basis in morning.

effectiveness:
1. Atleast Dustbin will be available at all places
2. It cost minimal(20rs), so that we can also change the ring also - if required.
3. If polybag is full with dust So it can be replaced easily with another polybag.
4. Can add more ...
