The NITI Aayog-led Shoonya campaign, in partnership with MyGov India, is thrilled to announce the electric vehicles Townhall, an open discussion platform for citizens to share valuable ideas and suggestions to promote and enhance the clean electric mobility ecosystem in India. The Townhall focuses on electric vehicles (EVs) and their associated advantages, including cost savings, clean air, health benefits, and emission reduction.

In line with this initiative, NITI Aayog in collaboration with MyGov, invites input from citizens.

There are many possible ways to improve the accessibility and convenience of EV charging infrastructure, but here are some general ideas: Expand the network of public charging stations in strategic locations, such as highways, shopping malls, parking lots, workplaces, and residential areas. This would reduce the range anxiety of EV drivers and increase the availability of charging options. According to McKinsey, the total number of public charging outlets could grow from about 110,000 in 2019 to about 1.2 million in 2030 in China, Europe, and the United States. - **Ensure interoperability and standardization** of charging equipment, protocols, and payment systems. This would allow EV drivers to use any charging station regardless of the operator, vehicle model, or connector type. It would also simplify the billing and authentication process and reduce the transaction costs. The Open Charge Point Interface (OCPI) protocol is one example of a common standard that enables communica

Already Petrol Bunks have the space. Let them provide charging stations. They can collect rent from the car companies and charge a small fee from customers for charging their car. This will encourage them to offer their space. No need for a subsidy from the government since the infra is already exists. the car companies will provide the charging port installation. Apartment builders can be made to build charging ports in the parking lot for their residents during the building stage itself and can form a part of sales. The EVs have still a long way to go in research and development since we are hearing news about explosions or fires in EVs. The government should provide for R&D for solar cars since our country has sunlight for 10 months a year. It is much more feasible than EVs. In case of electrical supply issues, the cars become useless but solar cars can be used for 10 months out of 12 without any trouble.
