India’s Handloom sector is a symbol of our glorious cultural heritage and is an important source of livelihood in the country.

The first National Handloom Day was held on 7th August 2015 by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. On this day, the handloom weaving community is honoured and their contribution to the socio-economic development of the country is highlighted, and the resolve to protect our handloom heritage and to empower the handloom weavers and workers with greater opportunities is reaffirmed.

Let us, together, ensure the sustainable development of the handloom sector by supporting our handloom weavers and workers for their exquisite craftsmanship.

As we approach National Handloom Day, we invite you to come forward & support the Handloom weavers/artists by sharing your photos or videos wearing or using Handloom products. The best pictures and videos will get featured at MyGov – the world’s biggest citizen engagement platform.

Jharkhand tribal sari भारत के हथकरघा उधोग को बढ़ावा देने के लिए हमे स्वदेशी निर्मित परिधान का उपयोग करना चाहिए जिससे इस क्षेत्र के सभी लोगो को रोजगार मिल सके और भविष्य में इस क्षेत्र से जुड़े ढेर सारे रोजगार का सृजन हो सके।

"मुझको भी तरकीब सिखा दे यार जुलाहे अकसर तुझको देखा है कि ताना बुनते जब कोई तागा टूट गया या ख़त्म हुआ फिर से बाँध के और सिरा कोई जोड़ के उसमें आगे बुनने लगते हो तेरे इस ताने में लेकिन इक भी गाँठ गिरह बुन्तर की देख नहीं सकता कोई ! मैंने तो एक बार बुना था एक ही रिश्ता लेकिन उसकी सारी गिरहें साफ नज़र आती हैं मेरे यार जुलाहे मुझको भी तरकीब सिखा दे यार जुलाहे"

This is great idea👏🏻👏🏻🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳 I bought some khadi products like mask , peacock and a purse💫 I urge the govt please not to levy GST tax on these items so that everyone buy these products in reasonable prices Thanks😊
