One of the problem with industrial finance is that it is grossly inadequate for the continuously growing and large requirements, especially to meet the needs of large industries. Besides, the securing and servicing of foreign funds are becoming difficult and expensive. Thus as a result of paucity of fund the expansion of industries is becoming very difficult.

One reason is that a bank's chief executives have a short tenure, during which time they want to post higher net profits and cheer investors. This lead to the problems deferred provisioning which is worrying situation.

One of the biggest problems with the Indian financial sector has to be penetration. Even when the Indian government tried its best to take banking services to the country’s grassroots, there are still people who do not have a bank account yet.
