One of the best energy-saving devices is the light switch. Turn off lights when not required. Many automatic devices can help in saving energy used in lighting. As far as possible use task lighting, which focuses light where it’s needed. A reading lamp, for example, lights only reading material rather than the whole room. Dirty tube lights and bulbs reflect less light and can absorb 50 percent of the light; dust your tube lights and lamps regularly. T-5 – Fluorescent tube lights and CFLs convert electricity to visible light up to 5 times more efficiently than ordinary bulbs and thus save about 70% of electricity for the same lighting levels. Replace your electricity-guzzling ordinary bulbs with more efficient types. Compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) use up to 75 percent less electricity than ordinary bulbs. You can save Rs.700/- per year in your electricity bills by using one CFL of 20 watt.

Increase bioenergy technologies for generation of electricity and energy's.The process is follows, for Biopower technologies convert the renewable biomass fuels into heat and electricity by using processes like those used with fossil fuels. There are mainly three ways to harvest the energy stored in biomass to produce biopower: they are burning, bacterial decay, and conversion to a gas or liquid fuel.

Make use of natural light. Replace old appliances. Unplug any electrical gadget. This helps to prevent e-waste too. Initial complete makeover to your water heater. Insulate your home. Apply caulking to windows and frames. Consider installing a digital thermostat. Install solar panels. Find out if solar is worth it for you. Minimize TV watching time. Change your lightbulbs. Switch to CFLs & LEDs. Invest in a tankless water heater. Live a sustainable lifestyle. Ditch that old TV. Turn off fans. Change your laundry habits. Hang clothes instead of using a dryer. Cook efficiently. Leverage off-peak rates. Use Quiet Mode on your AC (or better: don’t use it at all) Use smart tech devices. Change your yay-to-day behaviors. Replace your power strips with smart power strips. Use an energy supply plan. Use your dishwasher & washing machine for full loads only.
