There are small, but effective ways of saving energy, which we can practice in day to day life: 1) Use LED lamps (bulbs) only. (Even with lower wattage, we can get better illumination.) 2) Installing and using BEE certified products, with higher stars, especially energy guzzling ACs and Refrigerators. 3) Set the AC at a temperature, closer to one's body temperature, say, at 27 Deg. C, to minimise electrical load and also feel comfortable. 4) Ensure that the Refrigerator is good enough to produce ice in the freezer, but not too cold to solidify milk in the bottom chamber. 5) Ensuring natural light in the house, to the extent it is possible, to minimise electrical lighting. 6) If you have put mesh in the windows to prevent mosquitoes, cleaning periodically will help better ventilation and lighting. 7) Better to eat on banana leaves, especially if you have the those trees at home. 8) For food items taken from the fridge, allow them in the ambient temp. before heating it on gas.

Kaizen focuses on eliminating waste, improving productivity, and achieving sustained continual improvement in targeted activities and processes of an organization. Lean production is founded on the idea of kaizen – or continual improvement. Muda means wastefulness. Work that does not add value is divided into two categories: work that is necessary but not recognized by the customer as adding value -- and work that simply is not necessary. The second type of Muda should be identified and eliminated. There are seven wastes recognized in Muda. We have Republic day & Independence day, we celebrate both the occasions. To improve productivity of our country we should celebrate any one occasion. We feel its one of our Ghati Shakti that everyone need to realise and improve.
