Reimagining Skill India 2.0: Inviting creative ideas and suggestions to help reinvent the
landscape of skilling in India

The Government has reimagined Skill India 2.0, understanding the urgent need to create a reliable and qualified workforce. The push is necessary to help the workforce tap into new opportunities so we can look at the future of the world of work and be a part of New India's growth story.

Union Budget 2022 unfolded a vision for a New India, which will be built on a strong skilling ecosystem, robust digital infrastructure and plethora of opportunities. To fulfil this dream, several initiatives have been proposed to boost the skilling sector. They are:
Industry Connect: As India ushers in Industry 4.0, industry linkage becomes important to provide demand-driven industry-relevant training opportunities, bridging the skill gap and facilitating demand-based skilled manpower to industries which would, in turn, add new jobs.

NSQF Alignment: In a bid to bring talent in sync with demand for it, the Government is leaving no stone unturned to renovate the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF)and align it with evolving industries.

Digital Skills: The launch of the DESH-stack e-portal will encourage a digital ecosystem for skilling and livelihood and offer solutions to complex challenges in preparing for a skilled country. The Government is also focusing on strengthening the digital skill ecosystem as technical skills like AR/VR, machine learning, and the ability to work with data, including automated systems, become a must-have.

With Drone Shakti and Kisan Drones for crop assessment, digitization of land records, and spraying of insecticides, the country is set to leapfrog to a future-ready world. This opens up innumerable opportunities for both the drone and
agri-tech sectors: a mutually beneficial ecosystem for technology companies and agricultural modernization.

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship invites all Indian citizens to bring their best ideas and suggestions to the table as we move ahead to become the skill capital of the World.

The last date to submit your entries is 30th June 2022.

stop listening to IAS lobby and BIG BIG experts first. Start listening to people who need skill development, their problems and concerns by taking surveys nationwide. open large skill development center such as University having classroom for different skill set. give a 10k basic monthly incentives to those who are joining skill missions, later cut from their income. govt should have its own app such as urban clap to give employment in rural areas. it can give small works on daily basis.

A national website exclusively for youths containing information about the Training, Courses and Job vacancies should be there. Registered students can attend webinars, seminars, and workshops and get advice from experts in various fields. All MNCs and Start-Up companies should start giving placements only to highly skilled and meritorious students instead of giving them jobs on the recommendation. The reservation system should be abolished completely. Government should give jobs only to skilled people in the future. No reservation to anyone. Colleges should send meritorious students to inter-college competitions and help them develop their illest. Teachers and Professors should guide their students and motivate them without any biased attitude.

Make internship program mandatory just like a company must have csr, certain % of female workforce, handicap, etc. or put attractive benefits on those who do. Please please launch a portal dedicated to free trainings by reading, listening, etc. for example interactive web modules on any soft skills, the Gita, or any technical certificate, where there is a non mandatory test at the end of each chapter. video series on sign language, aptitude improvement, etc. In maximum regional langiages. That portal will attribute points earned just as encouragement. paid certificates section will be separate, a section for live free webinars too across any topics! Training material should not be old but latest. Provide all methods in each. like ebook, module, youtube series, any live online classes, etc. and portal can redirect passed candidate to interview campaigns as well after learning of tangible/technical skills. Internship options atleast for those who need. Others may learn for own use.

Government should mandate atleast 75% of workers employed in Road and Infrastructure projects are skilled and certified in government project. Previous skilling programs didnot emphasise on construction sector, the need of the hour is massive skilling of informal workers expecially in the construction sector. Other sectors like retail, etc its the employers responsibility to provide skilling not the government job to skill workers for employment in the private sector. International skilling should be encouraged and implemented in a massive way. Skill certification should adopt the same standards adopted by western countries
