Pravasi Bharatiya Divas has emerged as a wonderful forum to strengthen the bond between the diaspora and the people of India. It offers unlimited opportunities for India to gain from the skill and insight of the diaspora, who have been the pride of India across the world.

This forum seeks inputs on how to further sharpen the focus of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas for the overall development of India. Share your views on what more can be done to make the interaction between the NRIs and the Government more productive and impactful. How can India receive more investment not only from the diaspora but also from the world at large?

If you find global best practices of how various Governments have been innovatively engaging with their diaspora through such summits, you can share the same here too.

MY LAST SO MANY BLOGS I HAVE ASKED THE GOVT. NOT TO TALK , NO TRADE, NO DIPLOMACY WITH PAKISTAN/CHINA. WE ARE SIMPLY WASTING OUR TIME THERE. WE HAVE TO GENERATE OUR OWN RESOURCES AND DO DEVLOPMENT WORK IN AGRICULTURE, MANUFACTURING, INFRASTRUCTURE ALONG WITH SOCIAL REFORMS. PAK/CHINA ARE OUR COMPITITORS AND ENEMY

very badly managed voting in Haryana on 15-10-2014 today, with highly untrained staff , many are allowed to go out without ink mark since the staff was not given training for election duty , it is amtter of investigation that who was responsible for conducting these trainings and it will be good if these staff are made to undergo a test to confirm their standard to perform the election . It is a matter of investigation , how untrained staff was put to duty ?

I had a take on issuing a holiday on the day of elections, instead if we tell the people that they do not have a holiday and have to vote, then many will go to vote and take a day off giving a reason for voting, however the objective to achieve maximum voting will be achieved. Especially the urban areas the educated fraternity do not vote (shown in survey) and just view as day off from work, this behaviour will be avoided if there is no explicit holiday declared on the day of election.

"U.N. agency to cut food rations for 1 million Afghans over funding." (Reuters) Sir we have a chance to use India''s soft power here. WFP needs 30 million dollars, if we can commit even a fraction of this amount it will generate massive amount of goodwill for us. This will give intangible long term benefits when dealing with pakistan over their support for terrorists. This will be helpful when US leaves next year. http://in.reuters.com/article/2014/10/14/afghanistan-aid-idINKCN0I31EJ20141014?
