very badly managed voting in Haryana on 15-10-2014 today, with highly untrained staff , many are allowed to go out without ink mark since the staff was not given training for election duty , it is amtter of investigation that who was responsible for conducting these trainings and it will be good if these staff are made to undergo a test to confirm their standard to perform the election . It is a matter of investigation , how untrained staff was put to duty ?

I had a take on issuing a holiday on the day of elections, instead if we tell the people that they do not have a holiday and have to vote, then many will go to vote and take a day off giving a reason for voting, however the objective to achieve maximum voting will be achieved. Especially the urban areas the educated fraternity do not vote (shown in survey) and just view as day off from work, this behaviour will be avoided if there is no explicit holiday declared on the day of election.

"U.N. agency to cut food rations for 1 million Afghans over funding." (Reuters)
Sir we have a chance to use India''s soft power here.
WFP needs 30 million dollars, if we can commit even a fraction of this amount it will generate massive amount of goodwill for us.
This will give intangible long term benefits when dealing with pakistan over their support for terrorists.
This will be helpful when US leaves next year.
