1. If we are really willing to promote tourism amongst NRIs, then we have to improve our food and water quality. At present there is no effective control on adulteration particularly in milk,dairy products like curd, paneer, ghee, icecream, kulfi etc. All big food operators have an unholy nexus with the food officers. For breaking this nexus please collect statistics of all big/small food sellers districtwise and all food officers be given monthly sample collection targets.

All major tourist destinations, at least top 10, should be reviewed to ensure they meet international standards of tourism - adequate facilities like restrooms etc. Additional facilities should be built if needed to attract tourists. Packages should be built for these destinations along with air tickets as part of Visit India Program. There is a huge potential to people to learn about ancient India and other cultural aspect of India. Taj Mahal is not the only thing we have in India.

Indian Embassy should tie up local Indian community organizations and host India Night Events where they can promote initiatives taken by GOI. They should cover or provide highlights of major achievements by GOI and various state govts. Funds for various initiatives can also be collected at these events. Also, these events should be used to involve local population so that they get a glimpse of India and are encouraged to travel to India.

One of the most disappointing and revolting experience when I visit India is the treatment meted out by Customs staff. They always seem to find a reason to be creative with arriving at exorbitant amount of customs duty for personal effects. On two occasions, I had to pay them for video camera and digital camera. On another occasion, I was also asked to explain the gold chain, bracelet and 1 finger I had on myself, but when I got aggressive argument, they let me go. Is it how NRI's are welcomed?

Here's what the French embassy does in Estonia - a small northern european country. Every 1-2 months they have a French night where the embassy organizes French Food, French Movies and cultural enthusiasts pay a small fee to enter these events. I think the Indian embassys abroad should regularly host such "Indian Nights" - small events where NRIs and locals meet to eat Indian food, watch bollywood movie and occasional yoga! Having such community events is a good idea!

Most Indian Museums / Places of interest charge two rates for Indians and Foreigner. This is a bit disgusting. This is not practiced elsewhere in the world. It gives a feeling of distinction, fleecing money unreasonably, unfriendliness. Can we stop this. Instead have a system for voluntary donation and link to some speacial privileges, provide momentos, pictures. Most will contribute happily

I have not heard anything about my suggestion to improve processing efficiency for NRI travel documents such as OCI, VISA etc. Looks like it is not reaching proper people....meaning those who have willingness and authority to effect the necessary changes. Current procedures are very cumbersome and time consuming. Can someone listen and act on these suggestions? May god help my "Mahan" Bharat!

I would like to see the roadmap to achieve all these in India Where all things are available online. There need to be a certified list of travel and tourist agencies. One consolidated place to plan, book and execute my trip with probably an APP helping me on the way as how to maximize my happiness and benefits out of the trip. Sagar Mala and Bharat mala projects if executed properly will help. Every place in India has some uniqueness. Different food types are famous, you just need to know them

Religious tourism is good and making tourists circuit is good. Good and easy, clean commuting services will also help. Then there is law and order issue which means police reforms will play a major role in increasing tourism. There is a problem of trusting people in India like Cab drivers etc as there is fraud and loot. Safety and security is crucial for tourism. We should develop clean secured beaches which have sports parks, food courts etc.There is so much diverse good things there to promote
