Fund for big projects could be raised from NRIs .The officers that govt. is sending to foreign countries for observing + points could meet NRIs so officials can know ground level advantages as well as disadvantages of projects like metros trains.. . going in foreign countries and can get better understanding.

Indian government must introduce special tax brackets for the NRI's to come work and invest in India. Someone paying 20-25% tax in Texas will never come to India and pay 30% to Indian govt. When our PM is pitching US companies to invest in India there should be a special tax provision as well for their NRI employees to be able to move back and work in India.

...incentives may be marginalized and our efforts may have an inverse laffer effect on new business? I'm just voicing potential concerns; again, thank you Prime Minister Modi and your cabinet for all that you do.

....wrong examples to use for determining sale valuations (whether cash or in kind)? The rules on transactions under laws are very strong and detailed but if the tax department is fighting for a case where shares are undervalued.....how could we not give such a large company case the time due? Again, I'm no tax expert but while our business environment is on its way to becoming more hassle free, I hope it doesn't come at the expense of domestic or minority shareholders? Otherwise, our start up..

....and potentially depriving our Gov't of tax? I don't know the details of the Vodafone case and perhaps such an item has not happened (but then why would the tax dept chase it down?) What's more concerning is such cases create precedent for future potential cases where start up entrepreneurs want to sell their firms to larger foreign PE/ VC firms / Corporates and may be stuck due to complex shareholding structures and in such cases....such historical cases may be brought up as potentially.....

would all be part of that effort. As the current administration knows much better than me, making incorporation of firms easy, will increase the number of start ups very quickly as well. However, one thing on the tax front that does concern me is our domestic entrepreneurial interests. I'm all for creating an "easier environment" to do business but not at the expense of potentially allowing foreign controlling Indian firms from making domestic acquisitions at values below market estimates....

....to create a more friendly business (hassle free) environment domestically and internationally. I'm all for it and grateful that our Gov't is trying our image of a business friendly country as such changes (making it easier to incorporate firms over the telephone, receiving Corporate charters, company stamps, seals quickly or electronically if possible, share allocations/certificates etc, and to be able to do all these items online) and easier ways to obtain tax ID numbers (PANs etc)...

Good evening; again I wanted to say Congratulations to Prime Minister Modi and his cabinet for the landmark successes this past week with President Obama and thank Prime Minister Modi and his cabinet for all that they do. I was reading the latest news on changes in power among tax authorities to question senior management in cases where there may not be sufficient evidence to illustrate if Sr Mgmt of corporates make any decisions to dupe our Gov't of any tax revenues as part of our efforts....

I have come to India from the UK to invest in start ups , Health care, Tourism, Industries etc Already I am disillusioned by the massive red tape, unabated corruption and unapproachable bureaucracy. Before the MAKE IN INDIA slogan, the above areas should have taken care of. Once the NRI's come to invest in large number, if they / we do not get the support to invest in Industries, businesses etc, they / we will return in the same pace they/we came. We are keen to invest, please help.

we should be helping NRI to become shareholder or partners in start ups let it be with small amount. But it should be done legally with the proper involvement of the Indian banks which will be monitoring the startups and the NRI bank account. This will bring huge I really Huge amount of money into our country.
