With the GST coming into effect from 1st July, 2017, the biggest indirect tax reform of independent India, is going to transform the way indirect tax is administered in this country, impacting not just businesses but also the common man. GST is a tax on consumption of goods and services, which is levied at all stages right from manufacturing up to final consumption, with credit of taxes paid at previous stages available as setoff. It is going to remove the tax-on-tax effect through separate Central and State tax laws. In a nutshell, under GST, only value addition will be taxed , hence, reducing the burden of tax to be borne by the final consumer.

The most fundamental change in GST besides the consolidation of multiple taxes, is the use of a robust shared IT infrastructure in its operations. All the forms related to registrations, filing returns and other related activities can now be done through the GSTN Portal.

GST will help build an economically stronger India, with 'One Nation, One Tax, One Market.'

Aftergst calculation go like this whatever price before gst will remain their plus you pay gst also that means earlier vat and etc tax plus gst ..they are profiting more than double and in their bill they will show gst paid but what about vat and other tax under which they are pricing.. due to calculation and base price mismatch between tax authorities and traders consumers are paying double taxes why govt not pressurising traders to change earlier printed prices...gst regime is still not workin

RESPECTED SIR, IT IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR SMALL BUSINESS TO DEPOSIT TAX DESPITE OF HAVING HUGE INPUT AVAILABLE WITH THEM. THERE IS NO PROVISION OF TRANSITIONAL ITC IN FORM 3-B. AS OF NOW GOODS SOLD IN MONTH OF JULY FORM PRIOR TO 1ST JULY ON WHICH DUTIES AND TAXES HAVE BEEN ALREADY PAID BUT WE HAVE TO DEPOSIT FULL GST WITHOUT GETTING BENEFIT OF TRAN1 FORM PROVISIONS UNDER GST ACT.

Honourable Prime Minister, My observation is that cost of doing business has increased with GST. MSME's are facing dual pressure because of stuck payments and increased cost of doing business. Further enquiry funnel has dried up. Government needs to help MSME's by increasing capital spending, alloting research projects with specific targets.

THE DISCUSSION ON gst over. Implementaiton only. Now Removal of Income tax is a must. As aadhar card and pan are linked for many income generated activities..Income tax to be removed.Senior citizens whose income is below 20,000/- per month should be given 12% minimum interest by banks natonalised) . In india Senior citizens has to get some income at least 20,000/- per month. Hope government will look after this. Let all other concessions be removed.

Respect President, Implementation of GST. GSt council only knows What exactly to be done. Down course no body has proper Idea incl. Govt. Officers and help line members. So conducting classes about how to raise invoices online doesn't solve problems. The Helpline members and other Government officers should Know detailedly about what HSN code is and what are different industries having different matl. with different HSn code and supplying to others. Who is end user and how HSN codes effects.
