With the GST coming into effect from 1st July, 2017, the biggest indirect tax reform of independent India, is going to transform the way indirect tax is administered in this country, impacting not just businesses but also the common man. GST is a tax on consumption of goods and services, which is levied at all stages right from manufacturing up to final consumption, with credit of taxes paid at previous stages available as setoff. It is going to remove the tax-on-tax effect through separate Central and State tax laws. In a nutshell, under GST, only value addition will be taxed , hence, reducing the burden of tax to be borne by the final consumer.

The most fundamental change in GST besides the consolidation of multiple taxes, is the use of a robust shared IT infrastructure in its operations. All the forms related to registrations, filing returns and other related activities can now be done through the GSTN Portal.

GST will help build an economically stronger India, with 'One Nation, One Tax, One Market.'

Dear Sir, Good Morning and have a blessed day ...! It looks that GST has been framed after a detailed study...we do have to conduct seminars / workshops educating the people about it's importance and get their suggestion as well...the foremost and primary thing is that it is essential and required to build confidence in all the states that it will not effect them...it seems some of them still have reservations, doubts ... so we do have to reach to them through a panel and media by and large...!

Respected PM GST really a best move by gov. to stop corruption.I have an idea to implement effectively. If gov make a provision to refund some amount to consumer like LPG subsidy. It will motivate trader to enroll under GST and consumer also. Thank you

Respectfully I would like to highlight that the Road tax was increased in Maharashtra for a start. 1. If that liberty stays with the states, the extra 15% cess to cover for state losses for 5 years that is charged on vehicles should be abolished. 2. Suggest the road tax be included in GST and all vehicles be allowed to move freely across States without restriction. 3. States should justify increase in road tax as per ground work. % of tax should be in relation to good roads in a state.

*AADHAAR* is linked to *PAN* *AADHAAR* is linked to *Bank account* *AADHAAR* is linked to *LPG connection* *AADHAAR* is linked to *social benefit schemes* Ever wondered why *AADHAAR is not linked to Voter id card (EPIC) -* *Why don't they link Adhar with EVM,* so that anyone will be able to vote if his Finger Print matches only.By this way we can avoid false voting.

I am sorry but so far I don't see any benefits of GST. In fact,I see myself paying more as taxes and getting less in return as salary stays the same.It may be good for Govt employees but for private I haven't seen a single benefit so far.I just feel it as another way of getting bucks from our pockets and placing in govt's. Kindly have a check on how GST is being implemented by businessman,shops.etc.Things seems to be way different here in reality than documentation.

With due respect to GST Council on deciding various rates for various goods. It is seen that various goods relating to electronic components are grouped at 28%. Since Indian Electronics and Electrical industry is facing tough competition from global market. Kindly re-consider the rates. Preferably at 12% or 18%
