With the GST coming into effect from 1st July, 2017, the biggest indirect tax reform of independent India, is going to transform the way indirect tax is administered in this country, impacting not just businesses but also the common man. GST is a tax on consumption of goods and services, which is levied at all stages right from manufacturing up to final consumption, with credit of taxes paid at previous stages available as setoff. It is going to remove the tax-on-tax effect through separate Central and State tax laws. In a nutshell, under GST, only value addition will be taxed , hence, reducing the burden of tax to be borne by the final consumer.

The most fundamental change in GST besides the consolidation of multiple taxes, is the use of a robust shared IT infrastructure in its operations. All the forms related to registrations, filing returns and other related activities can now be done through the GSTN Portal.

GST will help build an economically stronger India, with 'One Nation, One Tax, One Market.'

The implication of GST is not known to all the people in a proper way, still people are not aware about GST, the government should make sure that it reaches people what GST means. Many of the shops won't provide bills and they also won't follow one tax they sell to the cost they need, people won't bother about that. Even in the case where they provide bills many retailers cheat consumers including other taxes as well, so government should take initiative in making sure that the concept reaches

We're all thankful of Mr P M Modi for this great change to launch GST in india. GST is not made for the short term change it's made for the long term change and it's directly effected to the economy. After lunching GST the shadow economy will remove easily. So it'll be a great change to the economy.

GST is good one. But the vendors like shops, hotel etc. collect GST from people, whether they pay to government? Here my suggestion. The software they use for billing may be featured with special option. Their system must be linked via net to the commerce/finance ministry directly. It may require many regional servers. Every time when the vendors generate a bill in their system, the server must generate an unique code that must be printed on the bill. Costumers can check the unique code online

GST is the best tax reform.. Though initially people may face some difficulties but it's the best and I should mention that slowly the govt should start with To transactions tax and do away from income tax

There must be GSTIN number for every PAN holder, which he can provide at time of purchase whether he/she consumes or tread.Suppose person went to dine at hotel and pay GST @18%,how he can be sure that amount taken from him will be deposited properly to Treasury.System should be provided to common man also to check his GST charged been deposited by provider/seller after 60 days, failing to which he can upload bills/invoice to portal to complaint of tax evasion. This will totally change scenario !
