With the GST coming into effect from 1st July, 2017, the biggest indirect tax reform of independent India, is going to transform the way indirect tax is administered in this country, impacting not just businesses but also the common man. GST is a tax on consumption of goods and services, which is levied at all stages right from manufacturing up to final consumption, with credit of taxes paid at previous stages available as setoff. It is going to remove the tax-on-tax effect through separate Central and State tax laws. In a nutshell, under GST, only value addition will be taxed , hence, reducing the burden of tax to be borne by the final consumer.

The most fundamental change in GST besides the consolidation of multiple taxes, is the use of a robust shared IT infrastructure in its operations. All the forms related to registrations, filing returns and other related activities can now be done through the GSTN Portal.

GST will help build an economically stronger India, with 'One Nation, One Tax, One Market.'

I like to inform the govt. about the misuse of GST. The products where on applying GST the charges are becoming low there buisness men are increasing the base price so that on applying GST on that the overall charge becomes more and that too without giving a prior notice of the increment. Most of the customers for that reason are not liking GST as the buisness men are making more profit in the name of GST. This is what I have noticed today while comparing the cable's bill today of two months

I would like to suggest you to please consider passing on the GST benefit to the Common Income Tax payer citizens of India. If not 100%, then government can start the process even with 50% or 25% tax benefit. This will encourage people like me to force the seller to raise the invoice with GST, and it will become difficult for the seller to convince the customer for not taking the invoice. Thus the increased revenue from the seller can be distribute to the TAX PAYERS. Detailed letter attached

An exceptional visionary country jointing step. Like demonetization, will take a bit time to settle down and government may have to take some remedial steps also. However, on petroleum products, government needs to maintain pool dharma which was promised while creating fuel pool i.e. prices will come down in case come down in international market and vice versa but government has imposed / increased government taxes to keep rates higher which is unfair. If made poll issue can be detrimental.
