The outbreak of the global pandemic COVID -19 presents a challenging time for everyone around the world. Not only is this pandemic a serious medical concern, but it also brings mixed emotions and psycho-social stressors for all. There are emerging mental health concerns with specific focus on Children, Adolescents and Youth as they more vulnerable to heightened level of stress, anxiety and fearfulness, along with a range of other emotional and behavioral issues. COVID-19 has also brought new stressors on Teachers and Parents hampering their capacity to provide positive support to their wards. While it is important to focus on continuing education on the academic front, we must give equal importance to the mental health and well-being of the students.

Manodarpan, an initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, under the AatmaNirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, aims at mobilizing psycho-social support to help Children, Youth, Teachers and Parents country-wide in a comprehensive and multimodal manner during conditions like COVID-19 and after. For more information, please visit www.mhrd.gov.in/covid-19/

MyGov in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, hereby invites citizens to share ideas and inputs to combat the psycho-social stress on School & College Students, Teachers and Parents, caused due to COVID-19 pandemic. Selected comments may be featured on social media.

Last date of sending us your inputs is 21st August 2020

Online Classes helping some part of children for example, children who are affordable to Hi Fi like computers, Laptops, Mobiles etc., Other part of children who are highly educated but not able to afford such luxury to the children. There are other part of the children who are actually rich but their parents are not able to attend to their ward. At least now the time that each parent has to spend some time with their ward so that our future citizens will create good society.

Study is must and online classes is the future mode of learning. If there is no online classes, there will be sudden pressure on children as they will loose the continuity in the learning process. Teachers shall try to make online learning interesting by adding some examples and giving some practical tips rather speaking continuously. This will break the monotony and will avoid generation of disinterest in studies. Perhaps, this can reduce stress in students and they will feel connected

Submissions here are discussing ideal situations to reduce stress. Let us look around and find out how many people are doing yoga or painting. The main point is to keep oneself busy creatively. Usage of social media like whatsapp, tweeter etc shall be reduced. Since children are not going out, mothers can make them involve in cooking and preparation of dishes. This will be make them AatmaNirbhar. Otherwise, children today do not know how to make even tea. Improve communication with children

Not just for post covid-19 but to build a great nation and remove mental barriers from young age. 1. Get rid of ranking & comparing system at least till class 6th. Tell teachers not to compare marks/results of students. Do not write on boards who are top 3. 2. Remove tie & trouser dress, instead use track suits and sport shoes as a dress code and just 1 day for formal dress 3. Set time table such as not more than 3 subjects per day and physical activity every day 4. Interval & snack time separat

Firstly, don't pressurize students too much through online education as according to my experience most students are just taking online classes just for sake of it. It has put more mental pressure to the students as day by day just to complete their work. Introduce more practical work rather than just theory like introducing Scratch application introducing students to concept of coding.
