The different records that need digitization -
1. Passport
2. Birth certificate
3. Domicile certificate
4. Marksheets
5. Driving licenses
6. Aadhar card
There can be apps where people can upload the scans or phtoos of their documents and and the numbers can be read from the photos by the app and can be linked together. SO when a person types in any of his/her passport number/date of birth/etc, all the above records will open in the very same place.

Ist step towards digital India shld be to sensitize Govt. officers to open their email & take necessary action honestly.over the decades country has spent considerable amount on e. governance & Administrative reforms without visible effect due to the indifference of concerned officers. In Rlys they still prefer FAX.Rly directorates specially the directorate of health is averse to transparency. They do not put ciculars & orders on website.Even the list of private empanelled hospital is not disclose

Let every request for death certificate and birth certificate be linked to aadhar. Any priest or any mullah or Church who conduct marriage be asked to record the same using aadaar number of the couple to obtain certificate of marriage with a unique id number for marriage. If done, within in Ten years the Registrar General of Census can stop its conventional operations, demographers can give better policy support to government.

Many Oriental Libraries have historical records on palm leaves. But they are not indexed for reference and citation by scholars world wide. A programme for digitisation of such material and indexation be taken up. All the digitised contents can be crowed sourced for translation by any one from anywhere in the world into any language on a voluntary basis.
