As part of the 'Bharat Ki Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' celebrations, a series of events are being organized by the Government of India to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence.

Through this MyGov activity, we aim to revisit history and acknowledge our local heroes whose struggles during the Freedom Movement have not received prominence in the conventional storyline. Let's raise awareness about our freedom struggle & the unsung heroes associated with it. It’s time that the contributions of fighters like Veer Gundandhur, Velu Nachiyar, Bhikaji Cama, etc. see the light of the day.

This is your chance to tell the story that must be told and honour the freedom fighters who have played an important role in making our nation free.

Share the stories with all the details and celebrate Bharat Ki Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with us.

Submission of Entries:

There are many freedom fighter from Gorkha Community (Indian Nepali speakers)and still government had not recognised in National level platform.Gorkha sacrificed there lives from motherland India and still out area is deprived of Identity, government schemes and policies. Many agitation was done for statehood GORKHALAND and many autonomous like DGHC and GTA was signed between Union Government and West Bengal Government and now our hilly politics is so worst now we need Union Territory or Political permanent Settlement so that we have our own Identity and separate us from West Bengal then only we can say proudly that i am son of my mother.

I have an interesting fact to share about our freedom fighters. I think every Indian family spared one person to fight directly for India. Social responsibilities of person who went ahead were taken care of by their remaining family.Like wife of martayar was married to Devar. in this process children of the martyrs were also taken care of .Or even without marriage, children of martyrs were taken care by the paternal / maternal uncle aunt. Joint families had resources to spare for country during the time of crisis

Sri Ramsaran Maharaj (1905-1994): Born in Budham of Tenali village in Andhra Pradesh. Great disciple of Lord Rama and the sidha of Gayatri Mantra. During the 1922 Sarabandi movement (No Tax), Ramsaran Maharaj is the head of the movement in his place. When the movement is in the extreme stage, Britishers brought "Firangi" to scatter and fear the mob. He moved near the Firangi and put his heart in its mouth. He shouted at the Britishers to shoot on his chest. After seeing the anger of Ramsaran Maharaj, Britishers left that place. He provided his invaluable contribution to our freedom struggle and pravachanas. Vandhemaataram.
