As part of the 'Bharat Ki Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' celebrations, a series of events are being organized by the Government of India to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence.

Through this MyGov activity, we aim to revisit history and acknowledge our local heroes whose struggles during the Freedom Movement have not received prominence in the conventional storyline. Let's raise awareness about our freedom struggle & the unsung heroes associated with it. It’s time that the contributions of fighters like Veer Gundandhur, Velu Nachiyar, Bhikaji Cama, etc. see the light of the day.

This is your chance to tell the story that must be told and honour the freedom fighters who have played an important role in making our nation free.

Share the stories with all the details and celebrate Bharat Ki Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with us.

Submission of Entries:

Tara Rani Srivastava was born in a simple family in Saran, Bihar, and got married to Phulendu Babu at the age of 13 yrs. She used to organize women in and around her village and accompanied her husband, on protest marches against colonial rule. They joined the Quit India Movement of Gandhi Ji in 1942, regulated protests, and planned to raise the Indian flag on the roof of the Siwan Police Station. They managed to gather a crowd and began their march towards the Siwan Police Station, shouting ‘Inquilab’. When they were marching towards them, the police started lathi-charge. When the protest could not be controlled the police resorted to firing. Phulendu was hit and fell to the ground. Undeterred, Tara bandaged him with the help of her sari and continued to lead the crowd towards the station shouting ‘Inquilab’ while holding the Indian flag. Her husband died, when Tara came back but she continued to support the freedom struggle.

Respected education minister, I would like to point out some major problem of our history books that, why students are forced to learn other country history do they know our history? we have so many freedom fighter not only who gave us indipendent India but also the warrior who fought with Mughals and save our country, Is it not proud full for us to know about our mighty warriors instead of learning about Mughals and Britishers who ruthlessly looted us? so sir please reprint our history books (NCERT) it'll be very helpful for us and for our unity Thanks and regards
