Tiruppur Kumaran- he is definitely one of the unsung heroes. kumaran belonged to Tiruppur and was part of freedom movement. He was carrying the Indian freedom flag and was protesting against the British when the police lathicharge him. he kept shouting Vande Mataram and refused to drop the flag and took multiple hits from police till he died.. to protect the flag from falling.. he is hence called "Kodi Katha Kumaran" in TN.. meaning the Kumaran who saved the flag..
