As part of the 'Bharat Ki Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' celebrations, a series of events are being organized by the Government of India to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence.

Through this MyGov activity, we aim to revisit history and acknowledge our local heroes whose struggles during the Freedom Movement have not received prominence in the conventional storyline. Let's raise awareness about our freedom struggle & the unsung heroes associated with it. It’s time that the contributions of fighters like Veer Gundandhur, Velu Nachiyar, Bhikaji Cama, etc. see the light of the day.

This is your chance to tell the story that must be told and honour the freedom fighters who have played an important role in making our nation free.

Share the stories with all the details and celebrate Bharat Ki Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav with us.

Submission of Entries:
• All the entries must be submitted online through www.mygov.in
• No other medium of submission will be accepted

2. Age
3. Address
4. District

6. Stories About their Contribution to Freedom Movement
7. Photos (if any)

This utmost sensitivity of the PM Sri Narendra Mody is astonishingly amazing- out of his v v busy schedule he found time to remind us of the unsung freedom fighters. This reminded me of the serial -"BUNIYAD" in which some body mentions - some thing similar to following - the young genetation will not understand about freedom fighters of the pre Independence era.I shall mention about one such unsung hero, with the hope that many will tell us about many unsung freedom fighters-cont nxt post

An unsung hero is a person who has achieved great things or committed acts of bravery or self-sacrifice, yet is not celebrated or recognized. An unsung hero may be someone who acts bravely in battle without notice, or someone who sacrifices himself for the good of the group, without recognition.
