Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance or UMANG developed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology was inspired from the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister, who said “e-Governance, let us think about ‘mobile first’ and thus give importance to m-Governance”.

On November 23, 2017, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi dedicated the UMANG Mobile app to the Nation with 163 services. UMANG is an initiative to build a common, unified platform, aggregating major government services of Center, States, local bodies, including important utility services, to facilitate a single point access through mobile app, anytime, anywhere. Citizens need to download just one mobile application and can access multiple services.

UMANG was envisaged to have a transformative and historic impact on the lives of citizens by allowing them to avail digital services on 24*7, without any intermediary. Connected government, effective & economic governance, citizen centricity, inclusiveness, universal access and citizen participation in governance are some of the key benefits of UMANG for citizens as well as the Government.

Within a short period of its successful running, the mobile app bagged the ‘Best m-Government Service’ award at the 6th World Government Summit held at Dubai, UAE, in February 2018. UMANG also won at the IDC Digital Transformation Awards 2018 in August, under the category Omni-experience Innovator, which recognized it as a pioneering initiative.

The ‘Digital India Jury choice award 2018-19’ and DARPG Gold award 2018-19 for ‘Excellence in providing Citizen Centric Delivery’ respectively, were also bestowed upon UMANG. Information dissemination and delivery of government services, for assisting citizens on various aspects of life & livelihood, is being taken to another level through the consolidation of many important and widely used government services onto a single unified mobile app i.e. UMANG

UMANG Team now invites your suggestions for which 3 new services to on-board from State/Central Government departments on to the UMANG Platform.

manniya pradhanmariji ko sadar naman., ap sr nivedan hai ki naye bharat k nirmar k liye ye app bhut hi achha hai.lekin ek request hai ki ap arkshsn ko jatiwad se hataye arthicwad kariye.jo garib hai unko arkshan de.or jis ghr me koi bhi govt. employee ho jaye uske bad us family me kisi ko arkshan n mile.fir kisi or family ko mile.jisse bachho ko mehnat karene ki sikh milegi.

उमंग एप में राशन कार्ड ऑनलाइन बनाएं करने के लिए aap icon add किया जाए, पंचायत सचिव, सरपंच को अच्छी तरह से प्रशिक्षित किया जाए एवम उन्हें कम्प्यूटर सिस्टम या टेबलेट और लॉगिन आईडी, पासवर्ड सरकार द्वारा दी जाए जिस से आम जनता अपने ग्राम पंचायत में ही राशन कार्ड के लिए ऑनलाइन आवदेन कर सकेंगे, जिसे कोई भी आम जनता भुखे ना रहे, तथा वन नेशन वन राशन कार्ड की परिकल्पना को भी पूरी की जय।

1. "One Nation - Healthy Nation" - Collect users' vaccination data and health records, link them to ADHAR numbers and issue a unique health card for all the citizens. Frame some laws around tax schemes to collect tax from every individual based on the salary range, merge the healthcare budget to the tax collected from all the citizens and provide medical facilities to all with no or minimal charge. 2. Incorporate single window system - all the government-related transactions should be done through this app 3. Add a chatbot and live customer services option in regional languages to help the non-tech savvy users who want to use the application
