The e-Committee of the Supreme Court has been overseeing the implementation of the e-Courts Project, conceptualized under the "National Policy and Action Plan for Implementation of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the Indian Judiciary-2005". It is the mission mode project carried out by the Department of Justice.
The e-Committee has evolved in terms of its roles and responsibilities over the last fifteen years.

Child custody should be common to both parents and there should be a system driven process to enable this.

Maintenance/alimony should not be legal extortion business.
There should be system generated standard to calculate maintenance/alimony. This standard should be based on minimum wages act.

If a case is not completed within the time frame, Accused should be cleared of charge. There should be an inbuilt system to facilitate this.
There should be a system to consolidate all the cases and counter cases.
All connected cases should be completed on the same/ next hearing day, by examining all the witnesses, providing evidence, cross examination etc... if complainant /witnesses are not produced, accused should be acquitted.
