One of the key priorities of the Government is to provide a non-adversarial and a responsive tax administration with the main objective of creating an environment conducive for achieving higher investments and growth. At the same time the focus is also on ensuring ease of doing business for the taxpayers. For individual taxpayers, Government endeavours to promote voluntary compliance by making compliance easy and reducing the cost of compliance for the taxpayers. These steps are aimed to ultimately result in buoyant revenue collections, reflecting higher growth, leading to higher standard of living and better quality of life for the citizens.

The Department of Revenue invites taxpayers and general public to provide innovative ideas and suggestions on tax policy and administrative issues with the objective of ease of doing business and reducing compliance cost for industries thereby facilitating buoyancy of revenue and increase in investment leading to higher growth.

... By this there is record of every rupee from POS. And moreover retailers do not give bills for small items then how the tax is calculated. I have seen one video in face book in which beggar carries a POS machine. I don’t know whether it is true video or not. But that should be implemented everywhere. Hope this will solve most of the money transactions white. My dream is also a Digital India !!!

Dear Sir, My suggestion is remove limitations for POS machines. So that most of the transactions will get through the cards. Majority of the retails business is done through the cash which is huge in our country. For example if any business person wants to use POS machine banks are charging some fee and also there are minimum transaction limit like 1.5 lacks to 2 lacks. By avoiding it most of the market vendors or even a shop keeper can avail it...

As we know that only 3% population contributing in India's growth by paying income tax, which very inadequate. To encourage people I can suggest the policy makers to issue a special card to the individual tax payers (who are paying more than Rs. 1 lac income tax in one FY) by which the can get some small exemptions/free services like toll tax, water charges, parking fee, preference in various govt. services etc. It will also increase the social status of individuals, which encourage others also

Our societal approach towards tax non-compliance has remained unchanged, from pre-independence era when it was matter of Prestige 'not to pay tax to Britishers'. That legacy(wrongly) still continued by few with pride. Hence, changing these perceptions & imbibing culture of tax-compliance should be the Priority. Heavy Punishments, should be imposed only on TOP / WELL CONNECTED Tax payers; and the small tax payers should be charged with 'Penal-Interest @5% above notified Bank Rate'.

We have many penal provisions on citizens / tax payers for non-compliance. Good. But, what penal provisions do we have for 'wasteful expenditure'? Unless, we as a Government/Custodian does not have "effective Penal provisions" on the 'Government Expenditure /Public- Sector / Corporate-sector Expenditure', how our Citizen / tax payers shall be freed from ever-growing Tax Rates & unrealistic penal provisions?

Simplify PAN number generation- Allow new taxpayers to generate PAN CARD electronically using Aadhar number. No need for paper forms. Pdf of PAN card can be sent to registered email by authenticating using Aadhar OTP. Long term, do away with PAN card for individual resident tax payers- Aadhar should suffice.

Subsitute PAN card by Aaadhar for individual assesses who have both. IT can continue with mapping PAN card with Aadhar card internally in its computer systems so that software need not be changed. This will call the bluff of jewellers who claim many in rural areas don't have PAN card, as most have Aadhar cards - in the context of mandatorily quoting of PAN card for jewellery purchase.

To increase tax base, make regular payments of citizens cashless. School and college fees should be forced to electronic mode. Introduce Aadhar in school admissions. Then touch payments to private hospitals. reduce avenues of using black money in regular expenses instead of concentrating on payment for luxury goods like hotels, airfares and jewellery.
