WB Situation Main thing is that the electorate is swayed by the charisma (call whatever you want) of Mamata Banerjee. Threatening, intimidating and attacking BJP workers and supporters by TMC goons is well known. Rigging of elections is another pass time of TMC. Even as about 130 BJP workers were killed union govt did not impose presidents rule in the state at least SIX months before the Assy polls GOI must apply union Laws for the sake of the citizens even it is center rule. Only then the Cadres and Public will be confident. Please learn from Mamata certain aspects and give the taste of her own medicines to her. Else BJP will end up getting only 5 to 6 Lok Sabha seats. It is very necessary to have a Woman face leader for BJP in WB who can work in conjunction with the new leader who has previously come from TMC.

A PIL was filed in the Supreme Court to fill the vacancies of Information Commissioners in the Central Information Commission. The Suprement asked while deciding the case in October, 2023 whether RTI Act is a dead letter. For quite sometime the CIC has been working with less than half of its capacity. The scheduled strength of ICs are 10, whereas at present, only two ICs and one CIC has been working. The Dept. of Personnel and Training is nodal agency to initiate the process of recruitment of CIC/ICs in the Central Information Commission under RTI Act. Since November, 2020 no recruitment was made, till November, this year. This has repercussions as other Depts. of the Central Govt. are misusing RTI Act. For example, the undersigned has written a letter dt. 30-06-2023 to Deputy Secy of Dept. of Sc. and Tech., Min. of Sc. and Tech. that they have destroyed the RTI Act in the Department. When a state is ruled by a national party, the government should be careful so that proper conservation of regional resources can be done. Not doing so will only benefit the Central government but the resources of that particular state will be swept away in the pit of degradation.
