While big Projects for water conservation like Ken Betwa are being done, it should also be supplemented by small but important initiatives at the local level like encouraging water harvesting , constructing check dams , growing more trees , desilting of rivers . This should be made part of a mission similar to Clean India mission and it should be made a people's program. At present , there is hardly any dedicated initiatives or programs for afforestation and improving green cover
