Respected Finance minister. The Union Budget is an important instrument for national development and economic planning. It reflects the government’s priorities and directly influences the lives of citizens. Inviting public ideas and suggestions can make the budget more inclusive and realistic. Students, farmers, workers, entrepreneurs, and professionals understand ground-level challenges and can offer practical solutions. Their views on education, employment, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure can help frame people-oriented policies. Public participation also strengthens democracy and transparency. Therefore, inviting citizen suggestions while preparing the Union Budget will ensure balanced growth and promote collective responsibility in nation-building.

For Union Budget 2026–27, priority should be given to increasing public spending on education to at least 6% of GDP and healthcare to 3% of GDP. Target creation of 1 crore quality jobs annually through MSME and startup incentives. Provide moderate income-tax relief to the middle class by raising the basic exemption limit and increasing deductions for education and healthcare. Allocate higher capital expenditure for infrastructure (roads, rail, urban transport) while maintaining fiscal deficit within sustainable limits. Strengthen agriculture through timely MSP payments, expanded crop insurance coverage, and investment in climate-resilient farming.

Respected Madam, I respectfully submit a few suggestions for consideration in the Union Budget 2026 to promote inclusive and sustainable growth. Focused measures on skilled employment generation, stronger support for MSMEs through simplified compliance and affordable credit, and relief to the middle class via rationalized income tax slabs are essential. I also request enhanced farmer-centric initiatives, including improved MSP mechanisms, expanded crop insurance coverage, affordable agri-credit, and increased investment in irrigation, storage, and agri-technology to ensure stable farmer incomes. I sincerely hope these suggestions will receive due consideration. Thank you for your leadership and commitment to the nation. Yours sincerely, Govind Kalke India

The house rent allowance and NPS deduction limit of Rs.50000 should be restored in new tax regime also. HRA is not an income. The employees who are not living in government houses because of unavailability has to pay higher rent to landlords then what they are getting as HRA and paying income tax on HRA is an additional burden. Also, home loan interest should also be exempted from income tax. I think these 3 things are justified to get exemption from income tax.
