India is accelerating towards an increasingly digitised and data-driven economy. With increasing digitization and engagement, the volume of data is also increasing exponentially, providing opportunities for better governance, service delivery and innovation in sectors critical for societal transformation.

Against this backdrop, the National Data Governance Framework Policy aims to enhance access, quality, and use of data, in line with the current and emerging technology needs of the decade.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology invites all Indian citizens to bring their best ideas, inputs and suggestions to the table as we move ahead to become the hub for Data-driven innovation and decision making.

Please refer to the policy document: Draft National Data Governance Framework Policy (PDF 509 KB)

when we file ITR, my CA asks me to provide the purpose of each bank transaction done throughout the past year im prder to catehorize them in the claim. Gpay ke zamane me pichle saal kya sabzi lharidi thi ya rumaal, kisko yaad hai? please improve the banking system so to automatically display the category of the transaction. many people don't file ITR just because these formalities are complicated amd they do mot have time. My bank statement does not even clearly mention the sender details, so we at times have no clue where did that credited amount come from. even the bank customer care does not have any info whether company name, person name... the statement entry would simply display some mixed alphabets or numbers for banking purpose, which is really of no use to the account owner :(. By improving the bank statement we could easily go next level in Data management and governance. Thank you.
