Taking the vision of the new National Education Policy (NEP) as envisioned under the dynamic
leadership of our Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, the Government of India has developed the National Credit Framework (NCrF) to enable the integration of academic and vocational domains to ensure flexibility and mobility between the two. NCrF would be a game changer by opening numerous options for further progression of students and inter-mingling of school and higher education with vocational education and experiential learning, thus mainstreaming skilling and vocational education. NCrF will also enable students who have dropped out of mainstream education to re-enter the education ecosystem.

NCrF will seamlessly integrate the credits earned through school education, higher education, and
vocational and skill education by encompassing the National Higher Education Qualification Framework (NHEQF), National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) and National School Education Qualification Framework (NSEQF). It also supports educational acceleration for students with gifted learning abilities and Recognition of Prior Learning for the workforce that has acquired knowledge and skills informally through the traditional family inheritance, work experience or other methods. The inclusive umbrella framework aims to make the options for Multiple Entry-Multiple Exit accessible and applicable across higher education, school education and vocational education, allowing students to choose their own learning trajectories and programmes.

The framework has been jointly developed by a committee constituted by the Government with members from UGC, AICTE, NCVET, NIOS, CBSE, NCERT, Department of School Education and Literacy & Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, DGT, and Ministry of Skill Development under the guidance of Union Minister of Education and Minister of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.

The Government is inviting comments and observations by the 30th of November on the document
which is available in the link below for download.

To get best result from any framework the base should be strong. Following are the suggetion. 1) Build international standard school / colleges across india under PM gati shakti yojna. 2) Hire talented teachers who are confident and technically strong. 3) Keep small fees dont keep it free. It should only free for the kids whose parents are poor / work on road ( like bigaris ). 4) Use latest technology like 5G / laptops / VC.. 5) Sports, Technology and science , Self learning, Inovative thinking, knowledge of nature and culture, respect for the country and most importantly power of vote are some of the important subjects to keep. 6) Exposure to real field traing, ground level assignments and practicals are important rather than lab litmus test 😂 7) The most important it these schools / framework should not be own by any political person, builders, business mans because I can see we have lot of education thrust whos owners are uneducated people 🥴

As ABC ( Academic Bank of Credits) already in place, what is more important to have a system of credit rationale. Means scheme of awarding credits needs to be rationalised as different institutions adopt different methods to arrive a particular credit. For similar performance, a institute may award 10, some other institute may award 8. Also some institutes give additional credits for additional courses, so needs thorough study to judge final credit

NCrF is a comprehensive framework that enables seamless integration of learning from academic, vocational and experiential learning,” the UGC in a statement said. The NCrF provides for creditisation of all learning and assignment, removes distinction and establishes academic equivalence between vocational and general education, enables mobility within and between them and its operationalisation through the Academic Bank of Credit (ABC), the UGC statement added.
