Nearly a decade and half has passed since the National Policy for Empowerment of Women, 2001 was formulated. Since then significant strides in global technology and information systems have placed the Indian economy on a trajectory of higher growth impacting the general populace and women, in particular in unique and different ways. The discourse on women’s empowerment has been gradually evolving over the last few decades, wherein paradigm shifts have occurred –from seeing women as mere recipients of welfare benefits to mainstreaming gender concerns and engaging them in the development process of the country. These changes have brought forth fresh opportunities and possibilities for women’s empowerment while at the same time presenting new and emerging challenges which along with persisting socio-economic problems continue to hinder gender equality and holistic empowerment of women.

The policy envisions a society in which, women attain their full potential and are able to participate as equal partners in all spheres of life. It also emphasises the role of an effective framework to enable the process of developing policies, programmes and practices which will ensure equal rights and opportunities for women.

The broad objective of the policy is to create a conducive socio-cultural, economic and political environment to enable women enjoy de jure and de facto fundamental rights and realize their full potential.

Priority Areas

2. Education
3. Economy

There is no need of making this law or bill as there are so many already biased pro women bills or laws were formed like 498a IPC, 125 crpc, Domestic violence act 2005 and dowry act which are misused by unscrupulous women for extortion or to harass men. Moreover, making special laws for women is not equality which favor women and are antimale under name of equality.it is violation of human rights. So these biased bill should not be passed

Once again it seems to be completely biased draft: If I start elaborating my suggestions/comments on this draft then entire draft needs to scrapped and redrafted again. We have enough biased laws/acts and we don't need any other national policy that discriminate MEN. Stop abusing, harassing, legally extorting MEN. Some of the clause are so ridicules that must be striked down immediately from draft. PFA my suggestions

Our country doesn't need a new policy. Already we are having laws in place for women. By this policy we will create more chances of exploitation of indian mem. Due to biased laws like 498A and other lot of indian man are facing exploitation and doing suicide. If we see the statistics we will come to know that lot of indian men are killing themselves because they r trapped in legal terrorism and nobody listen to them. So this policy is not needed moreover we need a policy for men.

Pls take into consideration the rampant misuse of gender baised laws by women to settle scores with men and his family members.Indeed by empowering young women,we are harassing old women.Kindly bring neutrality in laws and punish the persons who misuses it.

There is no need for the policy as such. Why you are making mens' life as secondary human ? Why there is need to break the country further, the castebase reservation, the religion, the statewise ethenticity is doing it from many years ? Please let BHARAT unite ! Gender based baised laws are doing their work by breaking country under #FeministsPressure. #DontBreakBharat

Quota system and special privileges to one part of the society means discrimination towards others. 50women centric biased laws which are in existence are resulting in misuse of such laws as most of the cases filed under these provision are either false or are filed to blackmail and harass the underprivileged. Our constitutional right to equality is a joke when theses biased laws come into power and these laws are destroying the very fabric of our culture and is damaging our judiciary and economy

Men are not 2nd class citizens nor they are bonded labour. Basically they are the driving force so kindly respect them and be generic and equal to them. Don't go against mother nature or soon a day will come when mother nature will slap back which will not give a second chance.

I'm a proponent of women empowerment and encourage active participation of women inall spheres of life. However,I'm taking this opportunity to highlight that India is a corrupt corrupt country especially the Judicial and police.Gender based laws and policies are used by women to settle personal scores and honest men and families have to go from pillar to post seeking justice from Indian Judicial system.Any policies should include to counter the corrupt nature of judicial/Governance.
