The India Newborn Action Plan (INAP) was launched by Hon’ble Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Harsh Vardhan on 18th September, 2014 in New Delhi. It outlines a targeted strategy for accelerating the reduction of preventable newborn deaths and stillbirths in the country. INAP defines the latest evidence on effective interventions which will not only help in reducing the burden of stillbirths and neonatal mortality, but also maternal deaths. With clearly marked timelines for implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and scaling-up of proposed interventions, it is expected that all stakeholders working towards improving newborn health in India will stridently work towards attainment of the goals of “Single Digit NMR by 2030” and “Single Digit SBR by 2030.”The INAP will be implemented within the existing RMNCH+A framework, and guided by the principles of Integration, Equity, Gender, Quality of Care, Convergence, Accountability, and Partnerships. Its strength is built on its six pillars of intervention packages, impacting stillbirths and newborn health. For effective implementation, a systematic plan for monitoring and evaluation has been developed with a list of dashboard indicators.

Dear Sir, I noticed some recent developments on your Nepal visit for the next SAARC submit and your travel plans for the same. The birthplace of Goddess Sita is SITAMARHI, from where I belong. The pond from where Godess Sita emerged still exists in the premises of Punaura Dham Mandir. But this city has never been highlighted. I know this is not an appropriate forum for this, but wanted to share this with you. I wish some day this city will also be known for this and can help to enhance tourism.

I live in Sydney, and every chemist here 'has' to ask 'if i want a generic option of the medicine?', if he doesn't do so, and if proved via CC TV footage, he can lose his license. This can be applied in a our country as well, instead of making separate shops for generic medicine. Its always an obvious choice for the poor. While in India, our maid did not take medicines for 2 weeks till we came to know, just because of the cost she couldn't bear. Generic medicine was always her option.

sir, The standard of medical and dental education is degrading and needs some strict action. The colleges are not fulfilling the requirements of DCI and MCI. Also there is severe disproportion between the graduating dental students and available jobs. Kindly look into the matter

I would like to make suggestion that to change mentality of people it should start from school level. There should be education about cleanliness, traffic sense, hygiene etc and there should be practical demonstration about all these basic things.
