LPG is one of the ‘clean’ cooking fuel with present consumer base of 17cr in the country and present coverage is 60% of the households. Government of India is committed to increase LPG coverage in the country to 75% of the household. Present, LPG distributor network has more than 17000 distributors spread having presence in both Rural and Urban areas of the Country. Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India is of the view that there is a need to increase of LPG coverage in the rural areas considering the benefits of LPG in terms of health and environment. Ministry recognizes that availability, accessibility and affordability of LPG are the key factors to increase the LPG coverage in rural areas. This can be done with bringing in new distributorships aligning with challenges encountered with respect of making them available to the last mile.

Therefore, Ministry solicits suggestions/inputs from citizens on the new model of distributorship particularly for the areas such as Hilly/Desert/Densely forested/other difficult locations. Also, to suggest names of locations which require establishing new distributorship.

The extant Guidelines for Selection of Distributorship is available on www.petroleum.nic.in

This is actually a good idea.I congratulate government for taking such an initiative step. But I request you to take steps and make all MPs and MLAs in the country to give up their LPG subsidies as a role model for people,so that more and more number of people will come forward to do the same. There will be no need of any rule which makes people to give up their subsidies. In the growth of a nation everyone's participation is must and necessary. thank you

#LPG Setting up community based gas supply similar to water supply would be suitable for remote & far off areas. The need to cater to each consumer doesn't arise as its centrally monitored, the distributor may refill the community gas tank only when it critical levels are reached. The level monitoring can be remotely achieved using latest Internet of Things device.

Please reduce cylinder deposit amount as much as possible according to present steel prices. (Last NDA government reduced it to Rs650. But now it is Rs 1450).

Increase lpg coverage in rural areas of tje country specially to the farmers. Because they have to burning woods to cook, that leads to air pollution. So govt. should easily avail and make lpg cylinders handly in rural areas.

I preferred not to give my Aadhaar card for LPG subsidy from the beginning of DBTL introduction and I was one of the first to Opt Out of LPG Subsidy. But I find it difficult to get a cylinder, because I have to wait for a “Without Subsidy Cylinder” (WS), which is required by very less people and Gas Distributor is not keeping stock of them. Now all types of cylinders cost same either WS or DNSC. Please ensure only one type of cylinders for the convenience of Opt Out Customers.
