Smart Health has to be designed keeping in mind to improve the health and wellness of our citizens. Smart Health should be able to provides comprehensive medical coverage including medical screenings, providing health care assistance and monitor various vital parameters of patients like subtle changes in pulse, respiration, heart condition, temperature and preventive warning on early onset of pneumonia (in small children) or other life-threatening problems, inside hospitals and at remote patient location including old people's home and ambulance.

What’s more in Smart Health?

• Monitor patients at home using live video and audio streaming
• Monitor vital health indicators collected by portable devices such as smart phones and tablets
• Set intelligent emergency notifications sent to a physician or family
• Charts and diagram visualization based on data collected from health monitoring devices

We need innovative ideas on the following parameters which can be applied to IoT of Smart Healthcare Systems:-

Root problem is that citizen does not know what healthy mean (in Bharatiya Knowledge system). 2nd, they do not know how much unhealthy they are - till the problem becomes chronic. 3rd, using knowledge of home/local resource to get healthy again. Smart health may inform what healthy means, use local knowledge and diagnostics at remote places to test how much unhealthy they are, and recovering health by using local resources. Support may be provided to pool knowledge and disseminate it.

Dear Sir, can you talk about the medical facilities and practices in India? The common man is still unable to challenge the doctor-pharma nexus and is bound to buy the prescribed brand when cheap generic alternatives are available. Also the media has, up to an extend, succeeded in convincing the Janta Janaarddan that after Modi took over, prices of medicines were increased multifolds. Can the Doctors be advised to type (not write) the generic name of medicines while prescribing

My area of concern is Govt. employee health cover. I suggest that in place of spending huge amount on departmental medical establishments and its workers, Govt may engage in health insurance to all govt. servants irrespective of their nature of duty and place of duty. Combatised and non combatised both should be in its ambit and only when there is no other option, a department should have their own hospital. No need to have expense on Railway,CPMF etc hospitals, only insurance needed.

Health encompasses Physical Health, Emotional Health and Mental Health which comes through pracitce of right thought, right word and right action. Smoking, Drinking and Chewing Tobaco harms the Physical Body. Pollution and Pesticides are the silent killers. Green Lifestyle and Organic Farming be chosen. Atleast 30 minutes of walk in the open air must be the part of healthy lifestyle. One may engage in sports activites like carrom, chess or badminton etc rather than watching TV to beat the stress

For monitoring, doctor needs to have patient's history. So it has to be in small clusters where family doctor and patients are connected through net. I am personally doubtful about success of scheme. Free Wi-Fi is essential since 60% of retired people can't afford medical treatment now a days. Also I had visited remote tribal villages during my service time and observed that even PHC is 8-10 Kms away and roads are poor. Can we revisit PHC norms? Scheme will definitely not help rural/urban poor.
