As the Indian population continues to grow there will be an immense competition for natural resources while achieving food, nutritional, environmental and livelihood security in the country. In addition, the negative consequences of climate change become more evident in agriculture with exploitation of natural resources, decline in soil fertility, ground water levels to meet the ever increasing demands for food and nutritional requirements. To maintain sustainable balance between natural resources and the demand, immediate attention is needed in several areas viz., imbalanced use of fertilizers, declining soil organic carbon, lowering of water table, soil health, organic farming and climate change impact in agriculture sector.

Recent studies on soil biodiversity, rapid composting techniques, use of bio-filters for removal of heavy metals from compost, application of Nano sensors in agriculture to improve nutrient use efficiency, need based fortification of micro nutrients; availability of soil health card, conservation agriculture for enhancing soil health etc. will support sustainable management of natural resources in agriculture.

With a particular focus on scientific and technical understanding of natural resources management, this portal tries to incorporate stakeholders suggestions in achieving sustainable natural resources management.

One of the reason for wastage and ever rising prices of food grains is that they are listed on mcx.The main drawback behind it is hoarding and creating artificial shortage. There should be ban on trading of Food items of consumption on mcx. This will reduce the cost and unwanted hoardings in the market.

Laws are framed by representatives of people for good of people after elaborate debate & discussion.Enacting laws are the privilege & right of legislatures. If legislators cant protect their rights they should vacate their seats.Consultation in appointments with the executive means actual decision on merits. If unworthy candidates are found they should be sent out by the device of consultation.Otherwise there is no meaning in enacting check of consultation in appointment as precaution of merit

The Advocates who appear before Judicial officers are the best people to KNOW merits OF Judges.Within few days they know Judges & act accordingly.Advocates should have say in selecting Judges. THE Judiciary cant legislate but the Collegiam system is outcome of Judicial legislation .Using limited power TO decide cases & interpret laws, Judges are legislating & usurping absolute power even that of the legislature.Lack of laws is no Justification for Judiciary to frame laws as a temporary measure.

I think government have to select such area which will grow certain types of grains. Than set up agro based industry in those area or near those area which would use those grains as a raw materials for the production of different types of food items which will have better demand in market. It will increase the economy condition of our country as well as the farmers of our country.

We can make it compulsory for hotels to have kitchen gardens. It would ensure that we get fresh and organic eatables to consume even if we eat out. This would even provide employment for skilled people as gardeners. It would be a good space utilising method.

To attain food security we can launch a pilot experiment. As we live in city beautiful Chandigarh, this place has big open places to launch such a programme. We can make it compulsory for the big government or private institutions to grow a kind of medicinal or small utility plants such as lime, mint, green chilies etc.instead of ornamental plants. This would ensure that such things are within the reach of people below the poverty line as well.So there will be enough for everyone's needs.
