The Internet and social media platforms provide its users an array of opportunities to engage, participate, interact and learn. At the same time, they pose a significant threat to users in terms of privacy, security risks and cyber bullying.

In order to sensitize and create awareness among young internet users on safe and responsible use of internet and available online technologies, Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) seek suggestions on a discussion titled “How to keep children safe online?”

The best suggestions will be incorporated in awareness and sensitisation plan to be unveiled/launched as a part of Internet Safety Guidelines for children and Youth.

The last date of submission of your comments is 17th February, 2015.

ban them from using internet untill they r 18 years... i dont think childrens need internet..unless they want to see porn/gore/violent vids etc etc. internet today has become place of very unsafe ideas n substance..as far as knowledge is concerned..i never needed internet..books were enough..the prob is that todays schools want childrens to do homework by internet research..america n others are now brainwashing kids thru internet..

I would suggest we should promote using email more than other social networking sites for communication. This way I believe that children would be safe a bit inline.
