India has an estimated 20.9 lakh people living with HIV. However, nearly 30 -35 percent of these do not know there HIV status. After a person gets infected with HIV, there is a long asymptomatic period of 5-8 years when infected person may not have any symptoms till his immunity goes down significantly and he start getting different opportunistic infection like TB, diarrhoea, fungal infection etc. Hence most of the HIV infected persons present to health system in late stage when immunity is very low and their response to treatment may not be optimal. Also during this long asymptomatic period of 5-8 years, though they are infected but may not be aware of HIV status and are capable of spreading the infection their spouse or others if they continue to indulge unprotected sex.

Early detection of PLHIV is beneficial for patient himself as he can receive timely appropriate treatment including ART as well as for the community to stop further transmission of HIV.

We invite suggestion from community/ NGO/ CBO/ Civil society and public at large their views/ ideas on How to facilitate early detection of People Living with HIV (PLHIV) and put them on ART as soon as possible.

Stress can be relieved through Meditation, Yoga. Our country is having a rich culture. We are not utilizing the yogic practices endowed on us by our great saints like Maharishi Pathanjali. We Indian adopt western culture instead of our own legacy. Our Health is in our own self.

Now-a-days the corruption in medical fields are reaching new zenith especially Pvt.hospitals, they demand hefty amounts,if there is a health card, its different story. Once HIV is detected we can rely upon alternative methods of curing HIV effectively, by relying on Naturopathy, Yoga, Ayurveda, Homeopathy etc, which is cost effective with no side effects in it.

Educate children from the formative years. For this giving them sex education in schools at appropriate level in a sensitive way will be necessary. How to do this can be left to the Psychology experts. They can train the teachers and teachers can in turn teach students.

Most Importantly Healthcare budget to be around 5-6% of our GDP. We have acute shortage of data and statistcs. Precisely for this HIV drive we:- 1. Develop and implement time-bound state wise screening programmes by ppp programmes. 2. we need to allocate funds State wise. 3. District level Analysis of the Screening results. 4. Organized reports of all disrticts to be collected with respective state heads. 5. submit State level action plan to the central govt. 6. Implementaion.

When the family values are diluted, the young ones, esp.children get into some type of depression and frustration, which drives them to such habits. Whether poor or rich, donot sacrifice the family values.Naturally, the children in these homes are getting slowly drifted away from the love in the family and go after such habits. Parents must spend time with their children, so that they will love both themselves and this great nation, because children are the future of our Nation.

Aadhar and DBT - These should be linked as being envisaged by the govt. This will ensure that the subsidy reached directly to the intended beneficiaries and not scrupulous elements. Once done the only task that would remain would be to clearly identify the intended beneficiaries and switch on the DBT to them via a database switch!!! Agreed that the process of issuing Aadhar card is not fool proof but that would be a very minor percentage of the total and can be tackled by various means.
