Help us make Digital Locker better by providing your valuable feedback, comments and suggestions.

Digital Locker is a key initiative under Digital India program. It is an online application that aims at eliminating the use of physical documents and enables sharing of verified electronic documents across various agencies. Digital Locker provides a dedicated personal storage space in the cloud to citizens, linked to citizen’s Aadhaar number. It will enable various organizations registered on Digital Locker to push certificates of citizens directly in their Digital Locker in electronic format. Citizens can also upload and securely store the scanned copies of legacy documents in Digital Locker. These legacy documents can be electronically signed using eSign facility. A citizen can share these electronic certificates online with various departments and agencies registered on Digital Locker while applying for the services provided by them. Thus, Digital Locker brings the citizens, issuers and requestors on one platform and reduces administrative overhead of agencies by eliminating paperwork. It will also make it easy for the residents to receive services by saving time and effort.

इसमे देश की सम्पत्ती यानी पेडों का बचाव होगा । और जगह जगह विना वजह के कागजों का ढेर बनजाता है वह भी कई हदद तक कम हो जाएगा । इस फोल्डर मे रखी हुई प्रती वहा एकबार जाचकर संरक्षीत बना दी तो इसमे कोई बदलाव भी नही कर सकेगा । Part 2/4

लोगोंको हर एक जगह, अपनी पहचान देनी पडती है, चाहे बैंक मे खाता खोलना हो या किसी तरह का लायसेंन्स लेना हो, इसके लिये बहूत झेरॉक्सींग देनी पडती है । इस वजहसे बहूत सारी कागज की खपत होती है । यदी आप इसमे एक शेअर करने योग्य फोल्डर उपलब्ध करा देंगे तो यह कागज की खपत बच सकती है । Part1/4

Contd... Whenever any document is accessed or added or verified by anyone, an email and SMS alert must be sent to the user. This can help detect misuse, and hacking into any account to steal confidential documents. Document folder and classification (e.g. Confidential viz PAN/Aadhar/Passport/IT Assessment, Regular viz Elecbill/PhoneBill). Sharing of confidential docs should be possible only with regd. Govt agencies through drop down menu. contd...

Good initiative. The security needs to be improved. First, many browsers store the passwords and can be easily stolen. Further, someone can lock other's login ID by making multiple successive attempts of breaking in. So when logging into the Digital Locker Account, in addition to the Login ID and password, an OTP and random user information verification must be made mandatory (e.g. NNNNth digit of mobile number, PIN code, X characters of first name, X characters of email address, DoB etc).

I believe it is a great idea to provide digital locker for Indian Citizens. The service can be further extended by getting the documents uploaded verified by respective departments for authenticity. The documents once verified can be used across all the government/non-government services without hesitation and requirement of verifying. E.g.: If A uploads his Degree Certificate, the same can be verified by the University so that his employers/Universities don't have to waste time verifying it.

sir as i created account in digital-locker so found some updates are needed because who have more than one degree certificate so we are unable to upload it again so i request you to please make a option like graduation ,post graduation rather than degree certificate and i also appreciated your thinking that you and your team provide us a better platform to access our document from anywhere

Some CSC centre, eDistrict project not start till today due to login and password at Uttarkhand. While they registered in March 2015.
